not if a decision has already been made on your application, if a decision hasn't it might. If you're not a fulbright applicant a decision has probably been made

Ok thanks. I'd better wait till 20 and then ask an expedited review.

What do you mean? Are applications by Fulbrighters considered later than other applications? Should Fulbrighters expect to receive decision communications later than other applicants? I didn't know that!

Hi everyone. I really need some advice. I am completing my LLB, I have diverse international summer work experience, my grades are above average, and my toefl score is 118.

I have applied to four schools
Harvard, Stanford, Berkeley and Cornell.

I have received acceptance from Berkeley and the deadline to deposit is March 18. Should I wait for the other unis to get back to me, or do I not have a good chance at any of the other places? I want to wait for Harvard but I don't know what to do.

This is a bit random, but has anyone else received an email from Harvard strongly encouraging you to apply for certain external scholarships? I received an email along these lines a couple of weeks ago - the email expressly stated that the fact they were sending it to me was no indication I had or would be accepted, but I can't help wonder what it means....

@Ali22 and all other applicants who received this email. Did you submit a financial aid application for the program? Thanks in advance.

I did submit a financial aid application, but the e-mail I got a month ago did not encourage me to seek external scholarships - it suggested that I ask for extensions on other scholarship offers while HLS makes its decisions (I suppose it means nothing, though):

"In the meantime, we are aware that you may receive offers of admission and/or scholarship from other schools whose response deadlines occur before HLS decisions are available. If such a situation arises, we would suggest that you ask for an extension from the other school(s). We have found that most top U.S. law schools will usually grant such requests in order to help you make an informed decision."

I got the same email. I think it is related not just to scholarship offers, but generally admission offers. they probably want us to wait till the end of march, once HLS has made its decision, to accept an offer.

Dargwen: I think everyone who applied got the message you're referring to. Some applicants seems to have received another message encouraging them to seek external scholarships. What c.urresti1 (and I) are wondering, is whether those who received that e-mail are applicants who applied for financial aid.

I think this won't answer your question, because although I applied for financial aid, I still did not receive any email other than the one that Dargwen has mentioned.

I emailed a question to the graduate admissions office yesterday and I got a response earlier today. Things must be getting hectic in their office if they are working on a Saturday!

@Ali22 - Please confirm this: "the email expressly stated that the fact they were sending it to me was no indication I had or would be accepted".... I never received an email from Harvard along these lines.

I can confirm it - I received the email too. Ali22 and I are both Australians and have access to a couple of external scholarships apart from the Fulbright.

In my mind it was nothing but a courtesy email.
