Thanks, UTaaron. We'll see, that's for sure.
myadav09, yeah when did you go "complete"?
If you rec'd mail today, that means they may have been working over the holidays. I know GT was shut down for MLK day on Monday and yesterday for the presidential stuff.
Sorry guys,
I was away and didn't get a mail notification of subsequent posts.
my application was complete mid Dec. and I was a candidate for the regular admissions. I was surprised to see that an acceptance came as early as 15 th Jan.
Best of luck with your applications.

I think I wasn't accepted to Georgetown. My status turned to decision around 7 January, but I haven't received any letter by mail.
I've sent an e-mail asking for a scanned copy of the acceptance/rejection, but haven't received anything :(

13243546, I hate to say it, but I must agree with you. The deadline letters on this board seem to indicate rejections much more than acceptances. I went "dec" on 1/30. There were quite a few accecpts around January 21 or so. That made me a bit nervous.
But, on the other hand, you and simplejack have great credential. I, honestly, have a hard time thinking that you were rejected.

Santa,
Don't loose hope.
But can you imagine how crazy that office is right now, with 5 maybe 10,000 application (plus thousands of JD applications crossing paths with graduate apps) being read by maybe 10 graduate admissions officers, committee meetings, conferences, etc. Then administrative personnel who have to imput the informtion into electronic form, papers going back and forth, applicant name similarities, people who add up scores and screw up the addition, then envelop stuffers, mail room pick-ups and drop-offs,,,,and on and on. Between all the transfer of information (admissions officers to committes to administrative people to mailroom folks, I wonder if they ever accepted a person they meant to reject and rejected a person they meant to accept? Or do they have some type of fool-proof system in place that is impervious to human screw-ups?
Anyway, if I were you, I'd contact them. Your letter could have been lost in the mail or something.

Hi withprayers, I see that you also applied to LSE. When did you go complete? Have you heard anything?
Also, when were you put on the GULC wait list? Did your status change again (after you were notified of the WL)?

I just received a letter stating that my application was deferred to "regular action"

I was accepted into the tax program. I was early admission and my application was complete on Dec 10. I don't know when it went to decision status. I received my acceptance packet in the mail on January 20 but I don't recall whether it was mailed priority. My letter was dated January 16.
I received a follow-up email on the 26th and a packet about the faculty on the 29th.
I hope that helps

I think foriegn accepts are sent by FedEx or UPS; foreign rejects are sent by Airmail, all domestic sent by regular mail. Some foreign applicants also rec'd email accepts before they rec'd the overnight mail (but I don't think anyone who was rejected rec'd an email).
This is just what I gathred from reading this board. 'Dont know how accurate it is.
