Anyone else received a GULC Alumni Interview e-mail? Could this be a bad sign?

GULC sent me an interview request as well. I think it is a great opportunity to demonstrate my interest in the school.

From my understanding, Georgetown is big into interviews for both the law school and the undergrad. Georgetown wants students who want to be there. Fortunately, it's by far my #1 choice.

Would you consider yourself a borderline candidate? I think those are the people who get these invites, because they are not mandatory for everyone.

I consider myself to be a strong candidate. I have a nontrad domestic application, however.

Hi guys !
I applied to Gtown this week :)
For those of you who have been accepted, what were your academic standing ?
Im from Canada and my GPA is 7.9/10 (ranked top 6% of my class) ... How are my chances ? Any idea ?
I spoke to a girl that told me that below 8.5 means "no acceptance" ... It got me worried ... :s

Thanks guys !

There is no min. gpa required...
If you are in the top 6% of your class you should be fine in terms of competition. Now you just have to wait.
Good luck!

Top 6% is most likely quite competitive. Good luck!

No word here.

Did your application go "under review" before you received a decision? How long ago did you do the interview?

I also found out that I was accepted this afternoon! I applied to Gtown's Tax LLM and am a domestic JD. Super excited. Except the email did not provide any deadlines for intent to enroll?

I was accepted into UF's tax program (also this afternoon) but the official acceptance cannot be sent until I receive credit for the fed income tax course I'm in currently (my school notoriously canceled tax classes due to low enrollment and this was the last chance I had in taking a tax course). I guess it is UF's practice to wait for official tax grades before formal acceptances are given.
Professor Friel contacted me to make sure I didn't accept any program's offers before I knew that I had a spot there. But now I'm nervous that Georgetown's intent to enroll deadline will come before my grades post....

does anyone know the exact date we have to notify intent to enroll? NW's was 4/15...im assuming Gtown is somewhere in that ball park? hopefully later!

I'm not sure, sorry! But congrats!!!

Could you share the timeline of your UF app? I also applied there, just wondering when I could expect a response.

My UF application was complete December 18th. But I don't think I would have heard from Prof. Friel this early if it hadn't been for the email I sent the tax graduate program. I was offered a scholarship from NW that had a deadline accompanying it. So he wanted to convey that I had a spot there to give me some sort of assurances because I was nervous to give up my scholarship for a program that hadn't given me a spot yet.

Hey,

The deadlines are posted on the admitted students page. Here's a link: http://apps.law.georgetown.edu/admitted-students.

Just received my admission to the International Legal Studies LL.M.!!!

Georgetown is one of my top choices but my decision will, unfortunately, be strongly influenced by scholarships.

Does someone know when the decisions for scholarships for international students are issued? From the webpage I see that decisions are made on a rolling basis, but would appreciate if someone can provide some kind of guideline so that I can evaluate my options.

We expect a decision on late February or early March. I don't think anyone out there received a decision regarding scholarships. I am also counting on the fin. aid decision.
