Georgetown 2013

Congratulations LLM2013P, even though you are declining. Where are you going instead? I know someone is going to be very happy to take your place. :)

It looks like they were reviewing IBEL (Int'l Business & Economical Law) applications today--both Vicks and LLM2013P applied to that program and were accepted today.

Same here, withdraw from gtown, for all people still waiting, Best of luck ;)

Hey weatherlol--that's good news for other Tax LLMs waiting to get in. Thanks for letting the Board know. What program will you be attending?

Chicago's a great city--got my JD there. Are you getting a joint LLM/MBA? I'll be staying in DC and going to GULC. All the best.

Congratulations Vicks! That's great news.

The Admissions Checklist on the Admitted Students Web Site states that the Enrollment Response Form and the first tuition deposit of $300 is due on April 1st. I am a domestic tax applicant and I assume that the date is the same for foreign applicants. The second tuition deposit of $600 is due by May 1st.

These dates and deposits are not applicable for SJD students.

You should have access to the Accepted Students web site tomorrow, where you can find all of this information.

Again, congratulations!

Thank you so much CSJTax!

Today I could access the accepted students website. What you are saying is right. But do you think I could get some extension to decide considering that I just have 10 days to decide?

I am waitlisted by NYU and Upenn and awaiting results from NU and Cornell. Any kind of help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Vicks,

Go ahead and call the GULC Admissions Office. They are very friendly and patient and can answer your question. I would think they would extend the deadline because there is not much time for you to decide and because you are waiting on other schools.

Good luck. Let us know what they say.

I got admitted today. Congrats to all on acceptance! I was wondering about scholarships though... If nothing is mentioned in the email does this mean no scholarship is offered? Or will that be in the acceptance package that we're being sent?

Hey guys. I'm just wondering if when you go ''under review'', your list of requirements clears? has that happened to anyone? im wondering because that happened for only people accepted to NYU, and not others. Just checking if theres a similar pattern here.

Thank you:)

Nope. The requirements list was never populated (at least for me).

Thanks brooks21! I guess there's no way of knowing if you're getting accepted, rejected or waitlisted so it's just best to wait!. Goodluck everyone!

Hi GenLLM13 - My Requirements List was populated with my Letters of Recommendation but not my Transcripts. Did you ever get an email from GULC saying you App was Complete or does the status say "Application Complete" or "Under Review?" If so, you' should be good even if the Requirements List is blank or incomplete.

Hi CSJTax. My status says under review now so I assume the decision is imminent. My requirements list if populated with letters, transcripts and everything else I submitted, but I learned from the NYU thread that all those requirements are cleared when you go under review if you are going to be admitted. I just wanted to know if there was a similar pattern here, but its probably best to just wait I guess.

I'm not sure if that happens on the NYU site but that's not the way it works on the GULC site. My Requirements List stayed the same when my status was "Application Complete," "Under Review" and now that I'm accepted. It never cleared. A decision for you should be imminent now that you're "Under Review." Hopefully the decision will be "Accepted" and not "Waitlisted" or "Rejected."

It seems to take them 2 days between "Under Review" for them to render a decision so don't worry if you haven't heard today. Good Luck!!

Registered to let you guys know that I withdrew my GULC application today (General Studies). I guess there's an open spot now :)

Good luck to all of you waiting!

//edit: This might be misleading. I was admitted, so declining the offer might be the better term.

Is anyone else frustrated when talking to the school? Every time I call them, I get deflected.

Me: "Can you tell me about your job placement stats?"
GU: "I'm sorry, we don't keep any."
Me: "Well, what types of employers are taking your grads?"
GU: "All different kinds."

Me: "How does the waitlist for on-campus housing work?"
GU: "We'll call you if you make it."
Me: "But...what..."
GU: "We'll call you if you make it."

Me: "May I make an appointment for a tour?"
GU: "We don't give guided tours. You can pick up a brochure and walk around whenever you'd like."

Seriously? I guess I just expected more...service? Effort on their part? I guess they feel their reputation is so good you can either take them or leave them. And so, I'm about to shell out $50k to attend a polite but unhelpful school. Meh :/
