Hello Everyone! Congratulations to all who have been admitted.
I was wondering if anyone knows how hard it is to get admitted to Fordham LLM in International Business and Trade. I called them and they have not even processed my application (received Feb. 28). They said that they have received hundreds of applications. Thank you very much for your replies!

Hi! I'm not sure if this information will be helpful or not, but according to this web-site; http://www.lawschool100.com/, Fordham is not so easy to be accepted, maybe...
I applied to Fordham LLM in Banking, Corp. and Finance. I caled them a few days ago, and they said that my application is complete and it's now under consideration of submission comittee. They received my application on Feb. 25, and they said that I'm going to receive the result in a few weeks.
Good luck!!

I've been admitted to the LLM in International Business. I've also been admitted to Cornell. Which one shall I choose?

I am very interested in the Banking, Corporate, and Finance LLM at Fordham. Would anyone who has been admitted be willing to share your basic qualifications? I am curious about what my chances might be for admission. Thanks!

Hi everyone!
I have been admitted to Fordham Law School and to UPenn and I'm facing a real dilemna because as you may know UPenn is far better ranked than Fordham U, however, I so badly want to spend a year in manhattan, not to mention that my boyfriend will be in Manhattan...What did you hear about Fordham LLM? Do you think it's a good one?
And, if I finally decide to go there (as I think I am), don't you think it'd be cool if we looked for apartments together?

Hi Livia, can you tell me in which Program have you been admitted at Fordham? When did you applied? When and how did you receive the answer?
Thanks so much

Hi,
That did not answer my question...:-))
Anyway, I'm admitted to the LLM in International Business and Trade Law. I think they received my file early february and I received the answer by regular mail around the 10th march if I remember correctly..
What about you, is Fordham your first choice?

Well, actually is my only choice..
I applied with a late application because I decided only at the end of february. Anyway I wanted to stay in New York and Fordham is a good school, but I'm a little worried because I know that they received a lot of application and you know how they consider late candidates..
So I'm waiting: they told me they are reviewing my documents only this week.
Thanks for your answers

I did it again.. Sorry, I didn't answer to your questions.
I'm sure Fordham is a very good school, I've spoken to some attorneys in New York and they suggested me to try to enter there (Columbia and NYU are more famous and maybe better but I couldn't apply there because I was a little late as I told you.
About the apartment, if I will be admitted I will stay with my girlfriend because she lives there.

Vydia,
I see you share my problem: deciding between a very well known school and one that is located in NYC, and that is not so bad at all,
As for myself, I would go for Fordham if I were you cos' Cornell is really isolated especially during winter when the campus is burried under 50 meters of snow (according to a friend who went there)...And it can get very depressing..
But, it is a very good school...

I was admitted to LLM program in Fordham University majoring in Banking, Corporate and Finance Law. Recently I have found out that Fordham Law School is now offering another degree - the Master of Laws in Intellectual Property and Information Technology.
I thought about switching to new program, but not sure that is smart move program is not approved yet. I dont know what is going to happen if its not approved by end of the year. I was wondering if anyone knows - will I be able to transfer back to LLM in Banking, Corporate and Finance Law?
Thanks a lot for replies.

Hi Yan,
I don't think that you can switch that easily, you have been admitted to the LLM in banking, they would probably need to examine your application again, plus as you mentioned it's not approved yet. I'd say forget about it, too complicated and too risky especially if you wanna take the bar exam.
But you should ask yhe University...they probably are more than willing to answer your interrogations.

I was wondering if anyone knows if the university provides you any kind of accommodation or helps you with that.
thank you
thank you

They do provide accomodations but I really advise you to live off campus, with roomates if you don't wanna be alone.
A friend of mine attended Fordham LLM this year and told me that living on campus was really not worth it.
First it's way more expensive than living off campus, plus there are tons of regulations like you can't have guests over more than twice a month plus you have to notify it 24 hours before the person arrives etc...
If you send your deposit, yhey will send you a list of websites to help you find off campus accomodations.
Are you going to attend Fordham? Which LLM? Where are u from?
