Hi, is there a facebook group for admitted students ?

Hi, I'm trying to decide between Cornell and Northwestern, so maybe a Facebook group of admitted students is a good idea, in order to get in touch and try to decide which school to attend.

Has anyone committed to Cornell? I got my acceptance and 30K waiver a while back, but I’m waiting to hear back from the other schools to make an informed decision.

And did you send the letter accepting the tuition waiver as well? Mine says you certify you have withdrawn your applications from other schools. (Correction: it only says you certify you will attend; other schools do ask you to certify you have withdrawn from all other programs)

I'll be declining my offer, and got a 25K tuition waiver, maybe those will go to someone else.

Hi, just want to know if I’m missing something here. We are to confirm our seat and scholarship only by March 30th, right? Then why confirm/decline this early when you have about 18 more days to evaluate options and decide?

I know but I got an offer from my second choice (hoping to hear from the first one soon). And if I can decline the ones I know I will decline eventually, I rather do it now and maybe speed thing up for someone who is waiting (just my thoughts).

Hey has anybody written to Cornell to ask about the effect of Covid 19 on the LLM program? Are they going to extend our deadline to pay the non-refundable deposit?

I did, but they do not seem to extend the deadline. However, I kindly suggest you and as many of you asking the same to create somewhat pressure so that they change their approach.

Same to me. If there’s any consolation, all other schools responded the same (i.e. no extension on commitment deadline), so an extension here wouldn’t help much if you are doing it to wage other options. I have a feeling that schools coordinated on this.

Cornell did say they would return the deposit to anyone who can’t go due to COVID. I also asked about deferrals, and they said deferrals are rarely granted and are solved on a case by case basis. They could waive the application fee if we decide to reapply.

Hey! Would you chose NYU and Berkeley over Cornell and why or why not?
