Oh ok. UPenn is a great school! I have some friends who graduated from there and are doing really well for themselves. Congratulations! Atleast you know what you're doing. I have heard anything from Columbia!

So, what are you thinking of doing?

I think NYU and CLS are practically at the same level, at least for the areas I´m interested in. However, I have this very irrational fixation for Columbia. I think I may take the chance...

Dierome,
If you aloud me a piece of advice, I think you should give Mrs. Sylvia Polo (CLS dean) a call and share with her your situation. If you have a NYU deadline tomorrow, they HAVE to give a feedback by the end of today. One may find too extreme, but nobody deserves to be in this situation and I'm confident they'll be resonable enough to understand. Her number is (212) 854-2655.

Nope nothing! but I haven't asked for an expedited review...i think if you really want to do LLM this year you should accept NYU..a bird in hand is better that two in a bush..obviously if you are not rigid about going to school this year and you can wait a year, take the risk

Well, this is actually my second time doing this...
I applied for admission to the 2010 LLM program at CLS but was turned down because I lacked "sufficient work experience". They encouraged me to apply again this year and that exactly what I did. I really want to know whether that response was a very diplomatic way of being rejected or it was true that after earning some experience in the course of a full year, they would give me a chance.

I was admitted to NYU last year as well. I know it's very good too. It's just that I waited a full year just to see if CLS would grant me admission this time around...

Congratulations. Which country are you from? May I know your TOEFL score, as I have the same problem.

Dear dierome

I identify with your strength since I am a bit stubborn myself.. Well, this is my fisrt time applying but if you allow me to give an advice.. don't waste valuable opportunities, you do not know where life can put you next year, take NYU.
If CLS does not accept you it will hurt more to be out at both schools..

PS: I respect you guys.. but I personally don't think that calling is a good idea, we may be seen as pushy and desrepectful to the rules of the game.
I am waiting too and it is indeed killing me.. you are not alone.. perhaps much more than 100 are in this situation.. :S

Anyway, BEST OF LUCK TO ALL!!

Hi!
Thank you all for the advice. I haven´t called yet and I agree with ringirl that it may come across as disrespectful and pushy.
I still have some hope that they may reply today.
One question though. What would happen if I take NYU´s offer today and hear good news from CLS in the upcoming days? Can I still withdraw? Would the only consequence be that I lose the non refundable US$500?

I would also like to know the answer of that question!! :S
In NYU's case they seem pretty rigid with their policy, but for other schools I have no clue
Perhaps Oldtimer could help, he knows everything =D
