No news - Bad news.....
they actually will tell you if you have been deferred to the regular cycle, or if you are rejected. so if you haven't heard anything, it means you have not been deferred or rejected, and admission is still a possibility. so no news means good news! good luck to all!

dead right about the calling and annoying them. i got a mail saying that transcripts, recommendation and something else where missing. wrote back immediately saying that everything had been couriered a month back and i got the confirmation from DHL. and, at my peril, called. this lady was extremely pissed, to put it mildly, with me. apparently my name was not written correctly. although i was sure all details were filled the way the form wanted i took the earful.
just cant rub these guys the wrong way~
hope we'll have the last laugh in feb - mar.

hello to all, just received my admission notice yesterday. They said they were impressed etc, but no financial assistance at all. So i must notify them by Mar 17 if i want to retain the seat.
So im in doubts. On one hand CLS sounds damn good, but on the other hand it is fuckin 70k i need to find.
So i think ill wait till all other unis respond - by Feb i hope.
I wonder if anyone admitted got a penny from them this year??

Congrats Whistler. CLS is a wonderful school. Did they say that you will not be getting any financial aid or that you will still be considered. When did you apply and get the completion email?
Posted Dec 06, 2009 10:38
Thanks!
I have submitted my online application October, 24 and got conirmation that everything is complete on October 29 (as I DHLed to them my recommendation letters and signed form).
I asked them exactly the same question that you asking me)) No, they said I will not be considered any further for any aid. Just admitted and deadline for 500usd tuition deposit.

@Whistler - congrats.... could you let us know about your credentials?
By the way I got my completion email on October 26. I am pretty worried right now... Since I haven't heard anything from them, I am assuming that I am either deferred to regular cycle or rejected...Blast!

Same here. I completed on the 3rd of November though. But think will probably get deferred or rejected I guess.
Whistler...any chance of disclosing work/academic background?
Cheers

What do you want to know in particular? Im from Russia, graduated with all top marks from the best University over here, have approximately 2.5 years of PQE with leading English law firm. Focusing on M&A, commercial etc..
So maybe there is an answer why Im not getting any help - they would rather give money to human rights researchers or those who focusing on something that soudns non-profit than to an attorney moving forward multi-million deals...
Anyway, this is it and i gotta know how to deal with this.

Wow, you got great credentials...

whistler - way to go~
thanks for your intro as well. its puts things in perspective for some of us. im sure with those credentials and an llm form CLS, in 2011 you shouldnt have much trouble getting a job and paying it off.
im hoping in part what you said about aid criteria is true. im a litigating lawyer and could do with any assistance and hope that the folks at CLS consider that.

I agree that no news so far is bad news.
Has anyone received a rejection? just wonder if i'm rejected or deferred to regular review...

Obviously, no news is not bad news.
The deadline given by the University was end of December. No news by that time may be bad news.
So far, you're just being pessimistic.
Decisions are still being made and no one here knows what the criteria is...
Good luck to all!

I didn't apply through early review, but based on the info from the forums last year, it seems that those who were deferred to the regular cycle will need to wait until around march to get results.
