yes, the wait is unbearable, especially for cases of early review. Presumably we can rule out admissions on a rolling basis through Jan and Feb

With all the people who have been differed through the Early Review, I wonder what percentage of 'differees' are accepted in the normal cycle. Anyone has an inkling from past years? Maybe I should have applied through the Early Review, it would save so much of this anxiety.

Hi all,
I will be applying to Columbia for 2011-12, and wondered if it's worth it applying for Early Review. Does applying early mean that you have to have a very strong application to get in (i.e. stronger than those applying in the regular cycle)?
I know this is typically the case for getting into undergrad programmes early, but I am not sure if it's the case for the LLM.

Hello LLMgirl123,
I applied for early review and got in. I am glad I applied for early review because it allowed me to have an answer on my application in time for me to make other decisions in my life and also I avoided months of anxiety.
As for the standard of review, I did not see anything stating the bar was set higher, but it probably was since there is a lot of high level competition for spots in the class and the early review students take spots before the general pool is considered. Bottom line is that your application has to be strong no matter what, so if you can get your application in for early review why not do so?
Good luck!
