Hey I submitted my application in late October. I am sure that they are just making their decisions on a rolling basis, so don't despair! Sorry, I've been following the discussions on here but haven't had the need to post before. Reason I asked is does anyone who has heard back know when fin aid decisions are going to be made? is it feb? I'll need to fin aid to able to study at Columbia.

This weekend I've got to get my NYU app together... it all takes so long!

Actually, I guess most applicants submitted the whole package around the end of Oct as the deadline was Nov 2.

BTW, was it delivered by Fedex or by email notice?

I submitted my application on October 26, and I got my "early review application complete e-mail" on November 5. Finally, on November 25 I got my admission notice by e-mail.

I am from Argentina and I'm particularly interested in human rights and gender issues.

What specifically would you like to know about my credentials?

I got my completion email on the 3rd of November - but still no decision....sounds bad now!

Don't worry at all! The reason I received the admission notice sooner could be due to a random factor like a review based on an alphabetical order!

I have some friends that got into Columbia in previous years, and they all told me that most early review decisions were made on late December and also that many early review applicants got admitted in March!

Anyway I got my completion email on October 22. So if they reviewing on rolling basis, how come these two guys get their decisions earlier than the rest of us who applied earlier then them?

don't get me wrong I am just trying to understand the method to madness.

I believe that they make a pile of applications randomly. Thus, someone who got the email first may end up at the bottom of the pile....

I am also scared to call them as such would make them angry... and I guess you don't want to make the admission officers angry ... :)

I'm going to join in in all the community stressing over the early review decisions. friends of mine who had applied for early review last year all heard from columbia by mid december. its good to know that they've started handing out decisions. congrats to those who have made it already!
