Well are any of you guys awaiting reply from Columbia yet? I haven't heard from them so does it call for concern?

I have received the admission email friday...so they are in the process of sending responses to applicants.

Well like many I'm eagerly awaiting their response.. Congrats Miki for your admission!

Was just wondering.. are they going regionwise?

They might be going regionwise since (according to this blog) the first ones getting the responses were the guys from South America, then there was the girl from Switzerland and a guy from England and me from Italy (i.e., Europe).
But, of course, this is just my impression from what I have red in this blog, nothing more.

To all admitted through an early review:

Would you tell us your backgrounds such as GPA, TOEFL score, professional experience, etc if possible, so that people awaiting a decision or defered to a regular process could estimate our chances? Thanks in advance.

I got the early decision offer, but no financial aid.

I also got an offer from NYU@NUS, with 35K financial aid. So I will need about 16K only for Singapore. For Columbia I will need 65K+. What would you people suggest for an optimal choice?

Currently I am well placed in India, have two years work exp.

I got an email 2 days ago informing me that I have been deferred to the regular pool. I think one of the reasons is that I don't have a work experience yet. I'm 24 and currently enrolled in a master.

hey indiangirl, congrats! could you tell us a little about your background? I just received the application complete notification from CLS for the regular cycle. sigh. looks like a long wait.

My background? LLB from india, 69%, 2 Yrs work exp in finance, banking, securitisation, etc. with a premier firm in India.

Can some one suggest or comment on a choice between NYU@NUS (singapore) with 35K financial aid and Columbia without financial aid?

I will need 65K+ for columbia, and I will need only 16K for NYU@NUS.

You are already lucky; NYU@NUS seems to be best choice for you at present; unless of course you have applied to other law schools and are lucky enough to get a full ride. there is still time and you may try for full scholarship from some equally good places like Virginia, Vanderbilt, Washington Univ in St Louis, Chicago, Northwestern etc.

I mean full tuition fee waiver, travelling and living expenses plus scholarship/TA/RA ship.
