Columbia Applications 2021-2022

Has anyone received a confirmation email including a link to an online Application Status page from Columbia? I have applied last month but have not received it yet. According to Columbia, that email is expected to be received once our application has been processed by a member of its team.

I received the same confirmation email, without this link. I replied to this email asking about the application status page, to which they replied:
"Since we are no longer doing rolling admissions, the status page is not available. You can check your LSAC account to see the status of your supporting documents, and you will receive an email from us confirming the status of your application once it has been processed. Decisions will be send in mid-March."

Has anybody participated in today's Zoom Webinar? There was a question of whether the deferrals from last year would result in fewer admissions for this year's applicants. And they answered it very evasively but basically acknowledged that the class size would be the same as every year. Hence, I guess this year's admission chances will somewhat be reduced.
Or did I misunderstand them?

same with you. If this year's number of applicators maintain the normal level, it will definitely has a drast decline of the chance we get into it. As far as I know, more than 50% students who get offer last year decided to defer. Horrible situation...really anxious

Hi

Anybody applying for Fellowships at CU, especially Appel Fellowship? Anyone has any guidance, tips or people one can ping to understand this better? Also, wanted to know if Indians are not preferred/not regarded for this Fellowship as I could not find any Indians who have been Appel fellows.

Any help will be really appreciated.

If anyone is interested: on today's webinar they (very enthusiastically) said that the number of admissions remains the same, regardless of higher number of deferrals. Still not completely sure if that means that they will still accept approx. 300 new students from this year's application batch, as this would mean considerably larger class (which is already rather large).

Hi JoGoo14, I wish to know whether they implied in the webinar the rough difficulty of admission this year compared to that of previous years. Thank you!

Hey! No, unfortunately they did not. They just said the number of admissions remains the same, and had a very positive vibe about it. Maybe other participants got some additional implications from the webinar:)

Hi guys, I was also in the webinar and they said that they did not usually grant deferrals in the past years except for extraordinary reasons, but last year they granted “some” deferrals because of Covid. My overall impression is that they did not grant as much deferrals as we think.

Have any of you shared any information on the financial aid section in the question titled "any other information you would like to share with us"? I did not do so as I was under the impression that detailed financial aid forms will be sent upon acceptance but am now worried that I should have written something.

Would you approach the GLS office and ask to edit your response? I'm afraid they will see it negatively...

Hello Tomgreen, I submitted my application on the last day and have only received the acknowledgement email - I am yet to receive another email to inform me that my application is complete or any other email.

Could someone please let us know when they receive another email.

I applied on November 12, received the acknowledgement email on November 13 and an email saying my application was complete on November 14. I will say that all my LSAC transcripts and recommendation letter were already accepted by the time I applied so I think that made a difference.

Hey everyone,
I have also applied to CLS. I submitted my application about a month ago and have just received an email confirming that my file is complete.

Best of luck to us all!

Hi all! Did anyone apply with the dual application for the Regular LLM and Executive LLM? Anyone approved in any of those yet? I believe decisions should be issued this month! Thanks and good luck! 1f60a

Hi everyone,

I just came to the conclusion that I accidentally made a mistake and applied for entry in spring. Does someone know if I can change this to entry for fall?

Hi Minion, I realized I did the same, since the dual application is for spring and I didn't notice. I guess I'll wait for the results to decide what to do...

Hi, I'm an LLM student and was admitted last March (2020) at CLS. From what I know, there are around 130 deferred students who will commence classes in Fall'21.
