Hi. It is sad (and a bit strange) that so many of you have to turn down CLS before even before getting an answer... However, if you decisions are firm and definitive, do you mind warning CLS about them so that people who are still waiting can continue to hope....
Thanks alot.
Thanks alot.

hi, I had a bad experience yesterday with Columbia. I sent an e-mail to Marietta to inform me when I could receive a notification and she answered me: "Well, we regret but you don't pake place in LL.M. class 2006-2007." I think that this is awful attitude. I received the non-official answer one hour after my question!?!

Hey Mariya, don't be mad at Ms. Marietta LaFargue. I have almost the same experience except for asking for my decision. Here is my case: I applied to Columbia online and mailed my package quite late. Ms. LaFargue informed me they didn't receive my package and asked whether I could resend to them. There was such a hurry for me since she only gave me less than a week to re-prepare for my supporting materials, including the application fee again. I was glad that I made it in time. However, after two weeks later, Ms. LaFargue was regret to inform me that I was not offer a place in Columbia University School of Law's 2006-2007 LL.M. program. Though very disappointed and regretting to pay for the application fee twice, I still feel Ms. LaFargue is a nice person.

By the way, dear Mariya, I think a formal letter from Columbia will be sent in a week. So... wish you the best luck in your applying.

Hi Keyif,
I faced the same situation as yours with my online applciation not reaching them and having to resend my application again and then if a few weeks Marietta sent me a reject after i sent her my other admission letters. I still havn't received an official letter from CLS apart from that mail from Marietta and now am going to NYU!

Good...It is their loss not to accpept you while it is your gain to be admitted to another prestigious school. Unfortuantely, I am not as lucky as you. Kind regards,

I am a current LLM here and heard from a friend about his experiece while trying to contact CLS.
Bottom line is: Don't try to contact Marietta - try Polo. She is great.
You will enjoy your year at CLS. Btw, I had similar *bad luck* with Marietta.

COF: could you please provide us with the full name and direct telephone number of "Polo"; I would really want a decision now, "Polo" seems like the right person to phone ...
Thanks in advance.

@dodo
I wish you all the best. Don't be put off by Marietta or some other staff. In the end they are of no importance for your year here.
On the other hand, Sylvia Polo has been always very helpful. She is really great! :-)

Dear Madelaine,
Thanks for your support:) Sorry, I was in hurry and I sent you an empty e-mail response.

Today I send an email to Marietta asking about the status of my application. This was the response I received:
"Our admissions decisions are made on a rolling basis. We hope to have all decisions made by the end of April or early May. When a decision is made you will be notified by email. Thank you for your patience in this process."
It seems that I will be enrolling NYU even without knowing CLS decision.

It's amazing how many would-be LLMs will go to NYU instead of CLS because of the delays and (why not) incompetence of its admissions department. Nothing personal against Marietta or the rest of the guys at CLS admissions department, but they're doing no favor to CLS...

Hi, Salomon, I see your point, but I think my application fee deserves at least a formal answer from CLS - even though I will not attend to it. In other words, I won't waste my time preparing and sending a formal rejection letter to them if they didn't even bother to send me a 2-line e-mail about my admission status. In any case, you have my word that if I am accepted, I will immediately send them a rejection letter.
Thanks alot.</blockquote>

you can call them now; they are all there except for Sylvia Polo who is on voicemail.

listen, i am sorry to say this, and it shouldnt make those of u who r waiting feel bad, cause we all know how random these admissions r, but i have been admitted to CLS in mid Feb, and i know that anyone that didnt hear from them after mid March is waitlisted, so try to understand, that they cant make a desicion, until the people that were accepted reject or aprove...
either way- if u feel that the staff there wasnt nice- u can send a letter to the dean. i think it will only do good! (for future llm's)
