Have got an email this weekend, telling me they have deferred my application to the regular admission cycle... Wondering if it's difficult for ones who already got such a deferring email to win the consolation match :( Should I give up?

I haven't heard anything yet.. Acceptance, deferral, rejection - I would take anything at this point.. How is it that some people heard from them well over 5 days ago and yet others, like myself, have yet been informed? Are they working by last name? by region? Its just a simple yes or no accompanied by a generic email - why is it taking them so long? So confused (and anxious)...

Also how is it that some got a call from the dean saying they were accepted while others just recieved a note via email?

In any event, those of you who have been accepted - were you informed of scholarships (assuming you applied for them that is)? Or is that a separate procedure which decisions are to be determined at a later stage?

They said this years Early Review applicant pool was the largest and most highly qualified in the history of the program. So it just takes time, don't worry HopefulCandidate.

I think they are doing it region-wise. Because a lot of the people who got in seemed to be from Latin America.
I am from Asia. I dont you where you are from Hopeful Candidate. But I think we will all hear something this week. I am getting very anxious (though Sayo's mail seems to dampen hopes a little, given the Early review is so comeptitive). We just have to wait.

I also think that they are announcing their decisions on a region basis and that whether you receive a call from the Dean or just an email will depend on what time zone you are in.

I have had no news regarding scholarships or financial aid (and I did apply for it). Maybe we will get more information about it once we receive the admission package on January.

Hey BzCandidate, I am from Brazil and got my admission call and email on Friday. I don't think they are sending out emails only to admitted candidates, since some people have gotten emails saying they have been deferred to the regular cycle. Best of luck to you!

They are only announcing the results for the early review right now, the regular cycle applicantants have a longer wait ahead...

I see no reason why you shouldn't be hopeful, good luck!

I still haven't heard anything yet. But I guess throughout this week all decisions regarding the early admissions will be released since the upcoming week will be Christmas. So I'm waiting much more anxiously right now:)

Please could you share whether the "check your application" on Columbia´s website changed at all after you received your results? I know they will not post results there, but does it indicate that an email was sent to you, or did the "application is complete" status change?

Im asking because I had problems receiving emails from CLS before, and I would hate to miss that cute rejection letter :-)

Actually, I, too, wonder whether the status changes or not. If it doesn't change, I will stop looking at the web site every half an hour:)

Hi!! the status does change. Now, in the status section, instead of "complete", it says: "decision sent".
Sayo, do you mind telling me from what country are you?
I have a friend from Mexico who is still waiting for a decision, so you shouldnt worry about the region thing...

I have just checked my status page and there is no change on it, it still says: Your application is Complete.
