I got my offer in first week of February. From what i remember Prof. Badger sent an email few days before the decisions were supposed to be announced.

Chicago is my first/second priority university. I can't wait to receive an e-mail offering me admission :) although the admission process is really competitive, I am still hoping for the best :-) Both Columbia and Chicago could make me very happy :)

Every top school is a long wait. Maybe except UCLA and Duke, which I have applied to and probably will be sending admissions by January. I think the waiting is worth it :) Just think how fun it will be receiving admission in march :) hope for the best!

And by the way, I have thought about it, and if Columbia and Chicago will both offer me admission, I will freak out....

Just got an email from Richard this morning regarding the application review process and more. I understand they will start sending admission offers beginning early February.

I got that e-mail too (it was a really nice e-mail, actually). Just one question: I thought Chicago made admissions on a rolling basis, but according to Richard's e-mail it is not.

I believe that he meant that they will make a couple of collective decisions, in several days beginning in February. I think it is still on rolling basis.

I got the email too. I think its rolling basis too.. but in batches.
But his email confused me as well.

I think that studying in Chicago is a great experience, judging from the way they treat applicants, with detailed information, and periodical mails from Richard, really makes me favor Chicago so far.

On top of that, add Chicago deep dish pizza, which makes my mouth water everytime I see those photos (recommended!):

ya ya even I thought of that! but as far as I know they do take more than just one from a few countries (like last year from India). So I guess even though they look for a good ethnic mix, they care a lot more for the profile of the candidate.
