Hi guys! I was admitted to Fordham, got the email yesterday (Fall/2009 program). I applied to the International Law and Justice program (and by mistake the letter I received says I was admitted to International Buss and Trade Law....).
I have 3 weeks to make the deposit and I want to ask them to extend that too, I'm still waiting for other schools... Did anyone get an extension beyond Feb.28? Did anyone heard about scholarships? Thanks!

I have been conditionally admitted to Fordham, because they didn't get my TOEFL score for the moment
By the way, What were your score at the TOEFL exam? do you think that having a little bit less (88) is a real problem ?

And I have another question, Is it easy to defer your admission to spring admissions, and is it sure ?

Hi. Congratulations both for your admissions. I´m not sure about TOEFL requirement. I obtained 102 on the IBT. Maybe you could try again before august. As I mentioned above, i have been admitted to IP&IT program. It seems very interesting and Fordham is in NYC which is an extra advantage. As far as i know, today the job market in the States (even in NYC) is really complicated for LLMs. For now we just have to hope that next year all this caothical situation could change.

I was also admitted to Fordham 2009 Fall with a condition to take a summer program or iBT 100 by the Fall semester. As I have not time to take TOEFL and my score was 89 on Feb 2008.

I guess there is few difference between 80-more than 100 on iBT in pursuing legal studies.

BTW, I have to deposit for my seat by March 31 and I have not decided whether I should enroll in Fordham or BU... which is better? the location, NYC is more attractive than Boston, but concering the ranking and popularity in other countries, BU might be better... Anyway, Fordham's IP/IT program attracts me so much!

If you are going to return to your home country then go for where you want to be most!
Boston has a great reputation for IP but Fordham does as well. Not that it totally reflects on the program itself but Fordham's IP centre hosts one of the most prestigious IP conferences in the world every year, so it would definitely not be unknown to employers if you were heading in an IP direction.
Go where you want to be!

I'm thinking I may go to Fordham and then apply to transfer to the JD as I don't think I'm eligible to sit the NY bar..

I got an admit for Fordham (Banking, Corporate and Finance LL.M). My TOEFL Score is 94.
I'm not sure whether with the LL.M. from Fordham, I'll be eligible to sit for the NY bar..Any information please?

This decision is hard. I have to choose between George Washington (scholarship decision pending), Boston Uni (with a $10,000 scholarship) and Fordham's IP program (no financial aid).

After a lot of research I have concluded that Fordham gives me the best opportunity to find work afterwards but it is so expensive. And the deadline for Fordham is today.

The GW LLM is general American Law and Fordham is in IP/IT. As an English lawyer specialising in an area of law that is only really relevant in the UK, I am playing the numbers game and am deciding based on which course would best improve my chances of getting work in NY (or DC - though I suspect NY gives me better odds).

I'm still waiting for an answer. I was wondering how long did it take to get answers? I filed my application a month ago, and was wondering if it really takes them around 6 weeks, like the website says or is there a chance to get an answer sooner...
