A very broad question: I have been offered admission to the LLM programs of both the London School of Economics and Berkeley. Berkeley wants a decison by next Monday (March 27th). I am primarily looking to work in acedemia with an emphasis on communications and IP law.
Which program should I attend?
Berkeley v. London School of Economics?

where is your undergrad from? if from teh UK, then its generally better to go outside the UK for LLM no? I think international experience is good, especially if you want to return to the Uk and distinguish yourself form others... Just my opinion, but most of my lecturers had an American LLM.

Berkeley 100%
LSE let in every international student I knew last year, even with very average grades. I know many LLM's are money makers, but some go to far.

I got my MA degree in the UK and Ill pursue my LLM degree in the US this year. I suggest you going to Berkeley.
1. You mentioned about youll pursue an academic career in the fields of communication and IP laws. I think the US law schools can offer you the best environment in the world because there are so many IP disputes and litigations ongoing in the US.
2. Foreign students like me can be the examinee of US bar exam, an exam with a relatively high passing rate (e.g. NY bar), by finishing 9 months LLM course. Such credential is better than a UK solicitor license in my country. Besides, apart from passing bar exam, UK requires 2-year internship before granting the license. Finding a law firm in the UK to offer you an internship is extremely difficult (maybe someone can correct me this part if I said wrong)
3. Berkeley should recruit applicants with better academic performances or working experiences in terms of IP laws.
