Berkeley Traditional Track 2015-16

I declined my offer, another free seat guys!

I have declined all of my offers (Berkeley, Columbia, UPenn and NYU) as I have been offered an international posting with my current employer. All the best to everyone, I will have to re-apply in 2 years time.

Has anybody of the admitted students already received a letter via mail (or an admission package)?

I'm just wondering, because my deadline for the deposit is in 7 days from today.

To all those still waiting for a decision: Good luck!

I also haven't received any hard copy by mail, but I think that doesn't prevent you from accepting and paying the offer online.

Just got admitted but haven't received an email regarding the financial aid.

Has anyone asked the Admissions Committee if the decisions on financial aid are released along with the decision on the LLM application or may be given later?

Hey there,

Financial aid was exhausted a long time back. These decisions are announced along with the acceptance email. If your acceptance email did not mention financial aid, you can safely assume you haven't been offered any.

Hope this helps.

I have declined Berkeley's offer and wish that anyone who's still waiting will hear the good news soon!

On a separate note, has anyone tried to email the LLMadmits email address and actually received a reply? I emailed them last week asking whether they'll be sending a hard copy of admission documents and never heard from them. Emailed them again yesterday and still no news.

Thank you for your response. Of course it is possible to pay the deposit but atm I am pondering whether to enrol at NYU or Berkeley, therefore any additional advertisement could "help" me in my decision making :-D :-D. Or at least receiving the package before the deposit deadline might clear up doubt on rumors I heard about organizational issues there. On the other hand, coming from a big public university this shouldn't concern me at all :-).

Thank you again and good luck to those still waiting!
Probably see you on campus :-)

I finally got my mail today! Waitlisted in the first quartile. I am thoroughly confused about LLM decisions now. If it works out, I wonder if Berkeley would be a better law school than Cambridge, which I have an offer for? With my chequered acceptances and waitlistings I'm genuinely curious about how the decisions are made. Does being in your final year of LL.B. (ie no work-ex) prejudice the application in any way in the US? My last semester grades on my transcript were also absolutely terrible, though my average was okay, so I wonder how much of an effect that had in the scheme of things.

Hello everyone!

Has anyone tried contact the llmadmits@law.berkeley... and recieved any replies?
I emailed them asking for a hard copy about 2 weeks ago still no answer now.
I tried the llm@law.berkeley... one more time about a week ago but no answer as well.
I'm a bit worried because I need a hard copy of the acceptance letter for my scholarship.
Do you have any idea how to contact the LLM office?

thank you in advance!

Hey Pallas...I wouldn't read too much into it. You got into cambridge! So there's nothing to be worried about. I got into berkeley without work experience (still in my last year of jd). I think that so many weird factors go into the analysis that slmetimes it can just be luck of the draw

Hello all,

Please be patient with our admissions office as we respond to an extremely high volume of inquiries around admissions. We do receive and respond to all emails but it takes us some time.

We do send hard copies of your admissions documents but they go via the US Postal Service, which can take several weeks. We thank you for your patience during our busiest time of year.
