I will too. Thesis track.
I don’t intend to sit at the bar exams as I want to work in the compliance area, so the thesis track works for me (although I could try for California as I am a qualified Brazilian lawyer). Therefore, I don’t even need to be a lawyer to work as compliance analyst (my goal) after the LLM.
Do you mind to share your backgrounds?
I am a Brazilian lawyer currently working in law firm specialised in capital markets, banking and corporate and I have almost 10 years of work exp (6,5 as lawyer and 3,5 as legal intern in public body and three law firms).
Academics: LLB with final average grade 7.2/10.0, two extension courses with 10.0/10.0 and just finished a postgraduate degree (so-called by the university as LLM program) with final grade 9.2/10.0. All taken from top-ranked law schools in Brazil (for Brazilians...PUC-Rio, UERJ and FGV-Rio).
Do I have chances to get into Berkeley? And to get a scholarship?
I will also apply for Harvard, Stanford, Columbia, UCLA, NYU and USC Gould. If you have hints about other schools, I will appreciate.
Best!
