Anybody has heard anything from UChicago?

hsinwei89811,
Dontworryaboutit. I am later than you (I completed my appl today), and the admission office today said there were still many people missing the outstanding documents....I am pretty sure u will hear from them in no later than two weeks. And regarding chances....I understand that if you have a strong background -first and foremost, top grades- you will at the very least be waitlisted and then compete with the rest for the spots in April. That's what I am hoping for me at least! Hope this helps

I was a little disappointed when I heard from their school today. they asked me for one more document, adding that they'll get back to me as soon as they receive it... I mean, thanks god I sent them an e-mail, otherwise I'd be likely not to hear from them at all...

Did anybody get any news (acceptance/rejection) from Chicago today?

Congratulations. I think all the spots for brazilians are filled. Anyway... when did you receive the "complete" email?

When did you get your "application complete" notification, Pucander?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Yeah, and your wife? Congratulations for a great achievement! Hope to meet you both in Chicago!
Posted Feb 04, 2009 23:20
BTW, you are very similar to grugani! Both brazilians and both would go to Chicago with your respective wife! Nice samba & soccer atmosphere would be eh? I'd pay to be there with you next year :)

I'm an Indian applicant from the University of Mumbai, currently in my final year of the B.L.S.LL.B course and I have been put in the stand-by list for now.
Hope they make a decision on mine quick.

Decision on Standby Group only in April!
I am on it too and it is annoying really - but i guess it is OK since other universities release their decisions then too.

Lol.. indeed... NUS I presume. Did you apply to any UK schools?
Posted Feb 05, 2009 00:47
no, did all my studies abroad over in Australia.
Nah, did not apply to UK schools! Yourself?

Yeah applied to a few and have a conditional offer from LSE so far...
Posted Feb 05, 2009 00:51
Congratulations on your conditional offer to LSE! If I had applied to UK, my choices would have been Oxbridge - but too late now!
i have a feeling U of Chicago gives considerable weight to working experience in the legal profession so that is why my application was waistlisted. I have barely a year of experience in practice!
I also got this vibe from their Standby Group Statement where they indicate that diversity factors will decide (rather than rank) in this round and work experience is one of them!
what do you think?
Cheers,
G
