trustfully waiting for both Harvard and Chicago; meanwhile I saved myself a spot at NU...

hey
How do you "save a spot" in a university?
my understanding is that once you've accepted the offer and paid the deposit, you will be breaching on this if you decide to choose any other school.
not that I fear any damages claims ( ))) ) but would it not put one on some kind of a "blacklist"?

until you don't enroll you've nothing to worry about. actually, I sent documents from bangkok, where I work, to Italy, my permanent address, and in few days they will be sent, along with financial statements from banks, to NU for finally enrolling...

hi everyone, i just came across this thread today, i was admitted on the 6th of february. is the headcount still on?
would appreciate people's thoughts on a comparison on chicago, harvard, cls, berkeley and sls for an LLM in financial law.. I applied to these and so far got accepted to berkeley and chicago and waitlisted at columbia.
thank you and congratulations to those admitted and waitlisted.

There has always been a lack of communication between me and Chicago. I mailed my application file in early September and I was asked to send further documents in early February...I got my "application complete" e-mail on Feb 12 and, since then, silence. I wrote another e-mail 2 days ago, begging for an update, but no feedback yet. What do you think? Am I totally wrong when I think they could also be waiting given other-applicants decisions' deadlines? thank you for any tip on this issue

hi stagista
i really dont know about your case, have you tried to call them? i've been put on the waitlist and Dean Badger wrote us yesterday to tell us that they should be able to give us further info after April 15, which is the deadline to accept or decline the offer for admitted students...
maybe you are on some sort of unofficial waitlist, though i doubt they have an official and an unofficial waitlist... but if i were you i would call/write them to be sure...
anyways, i read you were going to NU, that's great too! :)
good luck!

NU wasn't my very first pick, but still is an amazing school and has a program that totally fit for me. with regard to Chicago, I finally decide to write to Prof. Badger. Just to know if I have any chance to get admitted after (or before or whenever) April 15...thank you for your feedback

Financial Aid anyone?
Chicago is my dream school, but I need financial aid!

I read from other thread that an admitted applicant received a financial aid of US$10,000. As for me, Mr. Badger rejected my application for the aid.

May I ask if anybody is so kind to write me down Mr. Badger's e-mail contact? thank you very much. Still no news from UChicago, and I've already run out of patience...

Hi Stagista11, it should be rbadger@uchicago.edu
Posted Mar 25, 2009 12:03
He's out of office till March 30. You should contact Kevin Petty at kpetty@uclaw.uchicago.edu.
Posted Mar 25, 2009 14:28
thank you both fellows. I sent Petty an e-mail almost 2 weeks ago asking for an update, but no reply yet...I'll wait for Dean Badger to be back. thank you again
