UCL/KCL/LSE/QMUL

Dear all,

Question: For those who have received an offer at UCL, are you required to make a deposit?

According to the knowledge base of their website you have to pay a deposit for the LLM programme.
However in the application it is stated that you MAY have to make a deposit. Someone enlighten me, since I have now waited 9-10 weeks for a final answer.

My offer says I’m suppose to pay a deposit by 1st April.

Mine does require me too to pay a £2000 deposit by 1 April, which renders my acceptance unlikely at the moment.

The second reference for my UCL application was submitted on 16 December 2019, but I am yet to hear from them. Recently I received an email regarding extension of certain scholarship deadlines. How do you think I should view my situation right now?

Hi! Mine was submitted on 5th of December (with both references) and I have not heard back from them yet. I reached them and asked the status of my application by e-mail and they responded and said that they are too busy and they will reply as soon as possible.

It has been almost 3 months now...

Does UCL consider applications from the date at which app. was complete and sent to UCL Laws, or from when app. payment was confirmed (one week after in my case)?

Been waiting to hear back from UCL for a while now, and any guidance would be appreciated.

I had some apprehensions given the current situation. I’m suppose to pay my deposit by 1st April. Do you think corona will have an impact on the September session.

@P_overtherainbow, I applied in early Jan as I can see in another thread. I heard that they would proceed with the selection process in late March. However, it seems that the process is faster now. I hope you get a positive decision really soon.

@nine west, it is really hard at the moment to speculate anything. I think it largely relies upon the UK government's countermeasure now (as to how stringent and fast it is). If they take effective actions fast, everything should become normal soon, as can be seen from China where they are able to cope with their problems within only around three months (to the extent that I know). Don't be too afraid, everything comes and goes, just as the virus. Chin up cuz good things await you!

I only heard from the Postgraduate Admissions Office because I sent them an e-mail asking them if my application was still under consideration (I sent it on January 7 and still nothing) and explaining I'm shortlisted for the Chevening Scholarship and that I am expected to have my offers soon. They only told me that my application was still under consideration and that they would forward my concerns to the "relevant admissions team".

But that was a week ago and I still haven't heard anything from them since ):
