Has anyone been lucky enough to be awarded a scholarship by UCL?

I have applied for a scholarship but they will reply during June/July. If you have applied but you don't get an answer until late July then you have not succeeded.

@ polies
hey I guess ur doubts must have been clarified by now but in case u still want to know...i received an email from UCL a few days back which clearly stated that :
If you need to apply for a Tier 4 visa to enter the UK and have taken an ETS TOEFL test on or before 17 April 2014, then UK Visas and Immigration has now confirmed that this will be acceptable as proof of English language ability. TOEFL tests taken after 17 April 2014 will not be acceptable.
That's very sweet of you, thanks. :)
They answered my email with the same information and they told me that if I took TOEFL then I would need to take a valid test to meet my condition. After that, in the same email, they told me they would get back to me soon to tell me if I would need to take another test. I was very confused so I called them (I was already going to call them anyways) and they told me, finally, that my TOEFL (which I took on March 22nd) would be valid to meet the condition of my offer.
So in case anyone is going through the same thing, you already know. :)

Sorry but which scholarships have you applied for? I thought there were no applications for the UCL scholarships and that everyone was automatically considered if UCL had received a complete application by 3 March 2014?
How is everyone else funding their tuition fees? Starting to think about finances for the year in London...

http://www.ucl.ac.uk/prospective-students/scholarships/faq/ you can find everything you need here, although I think the deadline for a scholarship has passed.

Ah right I've already reviewed all the scholarships here early this year. None of them apply to me really, except the law ones which I'm automatically considered for. I wonder when we'll be told about the law scholarships...

Where exactly does it say that you are automatically considered for a scholarship?

On the LLM scholarship page: http://www.ucl.ac.uk/laws/prospective/llm/index.shtml?scholarships
Everything on there states that 'There is no application for the scholarships'... all you need to have done is apply for the LLM by the relevant deadline and be offered a place.
Unfortunately as a UK student the only one I am eligible for is the £1600 Joseph Hume scholarship but there is only one and any LLM/Mphil/PhD student is eligible so chances of getting it are very slim!
I'm also curious which scholarships you have applied for. These Law ones were the only ones I knew existed.

Hi all,
I figured that I should let people know. I was just offered one of the £5,000 law faculty scholarships. I have no idea if all the offers have been made.
Best of luck to those waiting on funding results.

Congratulations to all of you who got accepted to UCL for the forthcoming academic season. Is anyone planning to do the LPC after the LLM? Also in which sector would you like to work if you only have the LLM and not the LPC?

Hello everyone,
First of all congratulation to all those people joining UCL.
I have a query to be clarified. I don't know if anyone else is sailing on the same boat like I am. I was asked to submit english proficiency test score as part of the conditional offer. I scored 7.0 band. Evidently, I did not get the required score but at the same time it is .5 band difference. Will the admission consider such a score since there is only a marginal difference or should I re-take the exam? Is there anyone here who have faced the same issue and eventually admission committee accepted such a score. Your suggestions will be of great help.
Thanks.

Hey,
FYI i am not required to take an English proficiency test because I have completed 3 years of university education in the UK studying law which UCL accepts as sufficient evidence. However, I am aware of a situation of a high school classmate of mine who was not accepted to study medicine at Liverpool University because his English proficiency scores were marginally lower than that required by the Uni despite the fact the he had met all the academic requirements. I would suggest you contact UCL admissions within this week and if they say that its ok then all well and good. If not you will have to retake the exams.

@polies & @jfgilbert,
Thank you for the answers! After suffering from anxiety for 3 weeks-ish, I finally got the offer! :)
Now it depends solely on the government scholarship I applied for... Well, hopefully if it's successful, I can see you guys in September.
Congrats again to everyone! :)

Is there a Facebook group anywhere for UCL LLM 2014/15 students? Would be cool to acquaint ourselves a bit beforehand, even if it is three months early! :)
