UCL 2014/2015

Hi,

I just finished my final thesis examination and received my final scores for my Bachelor's degree, and I'm currently in progress of completing my application for UCL LL.M. Waiting for my iBT certificate to arrive, and for my referees to approve :)

My question is, will it be too late if I finalize my application in 2 weeks? I am well aware that LL.M. in UCL is very competitive... Does anyone know whether there are still available seats for the program? Or is anyone's application still in progress as well? I'd be very much helped (and relieved) if someone would kindly provide me with an answer.

Thanks before, and congratulations for everyone already receiving their offers!

Hi!

I completed my application 4 weeks ago and still haven't heard an answer. I think that if all the spots were taken, they would have already rejected me. At least that's what keeps my hopes up!

I really don't know if 2 weeks from now it will be full or not, but I think it's worth the shot.

I'm dying of anxiety here. :(

It's definitely worth applying just incase spaces are or do come available. The reason why I say it is definitely worth applying is because many people that apply to UCL will most certainly have applied to other universities such as Oxford, Cambridge, LSE and Kings. The majority will probably have offers from more than on institution and so if they decide to take a place somewhere else then a space will become available at UCL which leads them to making an offer to someone else and that someone else could easily be you.

Time is running out, that is true, but you won't know unless you try! Good Luck and maybe I'll see you in September.

My application was complete on April 7, and since then I've been waiting for UCL to respond.

Just wish they would say yes or no and be done with it. Any idea what is their usual response time?

Is it of any use to call them up and find out?

It's been 3 weeks since you applied, they take around 6 weeks, maybe even more usually! So there is not point calling so early :s

Hi all,

Anyone received an offer yet? I completed my application on April 1 and my status on the portico was changed into "currently being processed by Admissions" yesterday. I decided to call the Admissions earlier today and was informed that an unconditional offer has been made. Oddly, the status on the portico has not yet been updated.

So i guess i will be joining you guys in September! :)

Congrats on your offer :)

My status changed yesterday as well but when I called them today they said I will know by the beginning of next week! Maybe that means its a rejection since they didn't specify that I've gotten an offer :/?

Thank you salsa93!

I guess we should just wait and see until the status in the portico changed and thereafter we may know the official decision. I am too still not certain if the information provided by Admissions does reflect the official decision. But i guess reading from few pages back it did.

Anyway, I am keeping my fingers crossed for you :)

Don't remember the exact details but I think if you are a non-EU student then you are guaranteed (?) a room in halls, unless you have studied in the UK before (something like that...)

Bear in mind that some of UCL's halls are crap, like the one that was voted the worst building in the country:

Hey you all!

I'm really concerned about my english proficiency test. That's because i took TOEFL and now it's no longer accepted by UCL (because of the fraud schemes that happened in the UK). I took it March 22nd, before the UK's Home Office decided to no longer accept TOEFL as a valid test to require a visa, and now I don't know if UCL will accept it so they can change my conditional offer to an unconditional one. I've already sent them an email, but they're taking so long to answer it that I decided to ask you guys if any of you has gone through the same thing.

Oh, and congratulations to all of you that recently got an offer. :)

Yeah, I'm pretty aware, just thought to ask someone here before making an expensive international call. If you were someone that knew something about it, then I would already have the answer. Isn't it? ;)

You can never know whether someone's been in the same position.Considering the fact that many people've left the thread once they got their offers don't think it will be renewed every day with new posts. Instead of waiting for the replies i would call them up and get the answer quicker. Just my opinion. that's all

1) I wasn't planning to wait a million years for an answer to, just after that, call them. If I got a fast answer, yey! No call needed. If I didn't get a fast answer, too bad, let's call. It's pretty simple.
2) And I can know if someone's been in the same position: I simply ask them. :)

Anyway, thank you for your opinion. Bye.

Alrighty.. got the offer... finally! But inspite of me completing my entire education in English, I still got a conditional offer asking me to complete English qualifying conditions. This is soo frustrating and insulting I might add.

Are any other Indian or other applicants facing the same issue? I'm thinking I should mail them and ask for a waiver or something. Does that work with UCL?

Also.. choosing a type of accommodation seems so daunting with the number of options available. Can anybody plz suggest the best places to stay for self-catered and close to UCL preferences??

Thanks :-)

hey I guess ur doubts must have been clarified by now but in case u still want to know...i received an email from UCL a few days back which clearly stated that :

If you need to apply for a Tier 4 visa to enter the UK and have taken an ETS TOEFL test on or before 17 April 2014, then UK Visas and Immigration has now confirmed that this will be acceptable as proof of English language ability. TOEFL tests taken after 17 April 2014 will not be acceptable.
