Hi Sedm, can I ask where you got this information from? I assume this isn't the full list and I would love to check it out myself.

haha, no I'm at Oxford- this isn't an official list! I just know this from talking to tutors! It just means that the BCL at Oxford won't quite be the same re obligations classes this coming year. But never mind- can't have everything I suppose!

Good to know then! I envy your inside knowledge :) Have you heard what the word is on public international law/human rights academic staff?

Congrats to all those who got an offer, by the way - hope to meet you in September, finances pending!

My son tells me that Commercial Remedies is the best of his BCL courses. Restitution is a close second after that.

I hear that Andrew Burrows is going to All Souls ( a research only college ) and so will not be teaching anymore. I had not heard about the others not being there next year. Are they going on sabbaticals ?

for anyone who has thoughts like mine (I was thinking about taking a year out in the hope that commercial remedies would be offered the year after), the current position is that it may well not be offered the year after either unfortunately.

Hey mickeynox

I've received an unconditional DPhil offer too. I know of a couple others as well. I'm actually really surprised that there are unconditional offers as I presumed it would be dependent on getting a distinction on my LL.M. Do you know whether the unconditional offer is usual, or that a few people get unconditional offers and a few people get academic requirements? I know the BCL lot get an academic requirement for the MPhil, even if it is only in one subject, which curiously makes it 'harder' for them to meet their offer.

Now, the eternal wait for funding decisions....

I don't. It just appears that they'll begin to be released gradually within 6-8 weeks or so. It seems logical to conclude that the decisions will tie in to college decisions as the faculty won't want to accidently allocate a scholarship to someone who is going to receive a college award. If I remember rightly, I was offered a college place within about three or 4 weeks last year, so it might be quicker, but it very much depends on the speed of each college's administration process: I had friends who were waiting for a lot longer.

This is a huge shame. Hopefully it'll run after all. I sent an email just moments ago regarding this - before seeing your post. Perhaps a swath of interest in the module might prompt a reconsideration.

Hey guys,
For those of you who got accepted for MJur at Oxford, can you please briefly tell about your educational and work background?
Because my friend got denied with two law master's with very high grades for MJur and want to know what is the reason: is it because of the money?
