Yes I got the same answer on the phone. She told me it would be within March since they want to finish all review by that time.
For Oxford as far as I read from the last year's thread the fastest way would sending an email after the deadline as otherwise we would need to wait for the never arriving letter.

Hi my friend! Long time no talk!
Well, I am very pleased to know that you are coming to America (even if not the same America I live in!)! NYU is a MAJOR University, which means you have a bright future ahead! Congratulations! Try come to Brazil on your vacation. Then you will know why we say God is from Rio de Janeiro.
I do not know what to think of the future offer, if I receive one. For sure I will accept it, if it is my turn!
It is just that now, as the answer is coming close, I get myself thinking about how it would be, and I become a little anxious.
May the Lord blesses us all!

Good question about the DPhil. Found this on the Oxford website, but there is no mention of the DPhil,

The admissions process is complex and can take some time. We have many applications to read and compare. For the BCL, MJur, and MSc Law and Finance, you can expect to hear from the Faculty on or shortly after 19 March. College decisions may take around six to eight weeks more. For the MSc in Criminology and Criminal Justice programmes, candidates who submitted a complete application by the first deadline can expect to hear early March. Candidates who applied by the second deadline can expect to hear by the end of the first week in May.

I applied for DPhil by the January 22 deadline. After Oxford received all my material I got an email:

We can confirm that your application is complete and will be assessed as part of the 22 January Application Deadline. The date by which departments are expected to make decisions on applications submitted in this cycle is 19 March 2010. You can therefore expect to hear the result of your application from the department, considering your application in writing, after this date.

Recently I wrote to the law dept asking for the possibility of an expedited review, but no reply yet..

Oxford mentions that it will revert "in writing" or "per letter". Does this mean that admission decisions are posted, or do they also e-mail decisions after the 19th?

If I'm forced to wait antoher week or two, I'm going to freaking die.

Anyone else know they're defo going yet?? What colleges have you applied for?

I don't think it means they're posted because I got the initial offer as an email and then a letter through the post later on,

Igorthepuppy, do you mean you sent in the student contract this year but you heard you got in last April? Do you mean to say you deferred for a year?

Hi everyone,

Decisions won't be communicated until after the 19th and they will be communicated via letter through the post. If you need to know earlier, for whatever urgent reason, then you can email the Law faculty and they will email you the outcome of your application (as they did with me, and I got a place!). Looking forward to seeing some of you in October! And good luck!
