don`t mind - of course, lse has a world class reputation but the system and the manner of studying is so different between lse and oxford that in my opinion you can`t be the type who prefers them equally

Success, I point of agreement I think!
I wouldn't worry about official letters. There has been no news of any official offers yet and none of us have received anything in teh post from Cambridge yet, even though it has been six weeks. Unfortunately, there is some more waiting to be done!

Hey
I called Ox AGAIN, person on the phone said the letters are being sent over the next two days - today (Monday) and tomorrow (Tue).....maybe some people will get letters by tomorrow/Wed.......
Person on the phone did'nt say anthing else.
Anyone know how many places there are on the BCL?
Any other UK applicants here?
If so - from where?
Cheers

A comment from the U.S. perspective: A good friend is in charge of reviewing applications to a prestigious graduate program (non-law) at one of the top American universities. The program receives a deluge of applications from outstanding students. She culls the applications and sends a group of them to the faculty for review. She told me that it is an extremely difficult task to determine which applications should be sent onward. Credentials are, for the most part, equivalent or nearly identical. Most applicants are outstanding. She said that, often, something in the application catches her eye and causes her to send the application onward to the faculty for review. It may very well be as simple as that.
My supposition is that many top American graduate programs that are deluged with applications have this type of review process. I assume that top programs in the UK have a similar process???

Dear Jagsmehn,
I am planning on applying for the Oxford BCL/Cambridge LLM next year and often read this thread to gain some incite into the process. I have noticed that you frequently post on this message board and are a self-professed expert on every aspect of the application process and the programme. I feel that now you have received an offer for the BCL it is time to make something very clear to you.
THERE ARE STILL a number of people who have not heard from Oxford. A number are my friends and they do not appreciate you going on about why you think you received an offer from Oxford over other universities or why you think the application process is more 'open'. I think most of the message board is too polite to say outright that the quality of your posts does not in any way reflect what they would expect from a person who has received an offer from Oxford. That is why it is not surprising that members have questioned how you could fail to gain admittance into LSE but were given an offer to Oxford. In fact I think it outrages most of us that you failed to get into LSE because of a 'technical' problem with your application, but gained a spot at Oxford.
We are all very proud of your achievements (and clearly so are you) but I think its time that you take your BCL offer and show some humility while the rest of board waits patiently for their response. I will put it all in plain British English, which you will need to come accustomed to whilst your glorious rein over the BCL, shut up you twat.

Flozx - I emailed her this morning as well to ask when and how we will hear...but also no reply. I'm sure she's been swamped with emails. It best to wait this one out, I think...
