Based on the MLF posts this year, it is clear that the button theory is holding true. Even though all had the button disappear on the same day, the time at which the button disappeared appears to be indicative.

(a) Among the 3 accepted, 2 lost their buttons at around 11am the day before offer day. The third did not state what time the button went away but posted relatively early.

(b) Among the 3 rejected, 2 lost their buttons at around 5pm the day before offer day. The third did not state what time the button went away but posted relatively late.

(c) The only person who ended up waitlisted reported that they still had a button as of 12pm the day before offer day.

(d) 2 people said that their button disappeared at an unspecified time on the day before offer day, and did not subsequently provide an update on their acceptance. Both of these were posted late in the day before offer day.

This strongly supports the rumor that buttons disappear first for offers and then for rejections, and they don't disappear for waitlists.

Obviously, this is a small sample size, but is remarkably consistent.

My button disappeared this morning at about 9.30. According to your theory, will I get an offer?

I wouldn't be trying to establish patterns/theories, you will drive yourself insane. Just wait for the outcome.

UPDATE - Just received news from a DPhil student at Oxford that while UCU strikes are happening, there will NOT be delays in the outcome of applications.

I hope so. Should we email them about whether offers will be release today or not?

Okay, created an account to comment.
2021 - Applied for DPhil in Law -- rejected.
2022 - Applied for BCL and MPhil in Law -- rejected. Got an acceptance on Monday morning, pre-dawn (UK time).
2023 - Applied for BCL, MPhil in Law, and MSc Intl Human Rights Law -- AWAITING!

Haven't heard back on any applications.
Hey, btw -- they released MSc Criminology acceptances on Wednesday (UK afternoon) -- I hadn't applied to that program but know someone who got in.

Good luck to all of us, most particularly to me myself, lol :D (sorry guys)

Yeah possible...but is it unusual that MJur applicants haven't recieved any response yet? Or this is how it is every year?

I think both offers start rolling at the same time. But usually that is from Thirsday onwards

Yes! I was admitted to Harvard and spongebobsquarepants also. His/her button disappeared yesterday it seems. Not sure people should be reading to much into that - I think the disappearance is only an indication that a decision has been made and marked in the system.

Good luck to everyone!

Mine vanished a minute ago exactly. I think I was the last one standing.

Nobody knows! Just have to wait and see. Solidarity to everyone stressing out today - I will be spending the next few hours in the pub and away from the laptop.
