Congratulations!

From the whole button theories we have, now I don’t know what to rely on anymore. 1f602

Congratulations! Shall we take this occasion to discard the button theory, at last? We would probably do next year's applicants a huge favour in terms of mental health.

Tell me about it. Let's sign off on this thread by asking future applicants to throw the button theory out the window.

My BCL button theory (unfortunately for me) is that disappearances before the 16th are rejections, on the 16th are acceptances, and after are waitlisted

It's normal for Dphil and Mphil to get offers without the button disappearing, but it's not for BCL/MJur. Observations from last year's thread.

Sorry to hear about this, but do you mean you already got a rejection for BCL this year?? Today?

I am sorry to hear about this. Have you been contacted today by the department on the outcome of your application?

If this helps also. I just got my DPhil offer. The 'magic' button disappeared this morning.  I still checked yesterday - as late at 11pm, before going to bed.

On the other hand, I have not got any update on my MPhil despite the fact that the magic button disappeared on Monday. Of course, this is already moot. Jajaja

Just got an offer for the DPhil. No button disappearance as far as I know (I checked yesterday at 11 pm for the last time).

Have any previous threads discussed the possibility that buttons merely disappear in line with when applicants submitted their application. I submitted mine very late, on the 19th, and mine disappeared around 4.30pm yesterday.

Tenuous, but this may also support the notion that early disappearances usually get accepted. Those who submit an early application are probably organised, have been planning for the BCL for a long time and so have a better shot of getting in?

Really don't think we can work out much from the button but it's a theory

In all honesty I think we're reading a little too much into this 'button theory' - tbh we won't know until we do and I think the healthiest option is to keep up hope until you find out! I would think that they process clear offer/rejections first and then trickle between waitlist/offer/rejection but that could be all wrong and I think we probably all just need to take a break! don't lose hope until you've gotten an e-mail telling you the outcome!!

Apologies, but what are you basing this theory off of?

Does anyone have any insight or has spotted any pattern from the years previous around what time they start sending out offers?

haven’t been able to get any sleep at all

Hi guys, my button disappeared late last night. Can I expect to receive the outcome today?

Hi meg!

I think we have people in this thread who had button disappearances from Tuesday evening and haven't heard anything back yet for the BCL - so, at the moment not sure?

I have an awful feeling that offers will only start coming in on Monday.
