Last year people got rejection at 2am, so surely working hours isn't overly important?

Did anyone get an offer at 2am? Or was it restricted to rejections?

2:00am emails are infamous with rejections. They send out a mass automated rejection email. Speaking from experience from last year

As no one's had an acceptance yet I really really doubt there'll be any 2am rejections tonight. Get a good sleep cause tomorrow's gonna be another long day of waiting :)

to be fair, never has it happened that rejections were sent out before offers and waitlists, so there’s that

last year it was 2:06am on Monday that rejections went out, so likely that tomorrow is the day for offers and Monday for rejections. Best of luck everyone!

And do they send offers at night?

this coincides with what happened in MLF. You basically get sat and Sunday to come to terms with the fact that you didn’t get in.

Based on the MLF posts this year, it is clear that the button theory is holding true. Even though all had the button disappear on the same day, the time at which the button disappeared appears to be indicative.

(a) Among the 3 accepted, 2 lost their buttons at around 11am the day before offer day. The third did not state what time the button went away but posted relatively early.

(b) Among the 3 rejected, 2 lost their buttons at around 5pm the day before offer day. The third did not state what time the button went away but posted relatively late.

(c) The only person who ended up waitlisted reported that they still had a button as of 12pm the day before offer day.

(d) 2 people said that their button disappeared at an unspecified time on the day before offer day, and did not subsequently provide an update on their acceptance. Both of these were posted late in the day before offer day.

This strongly supports the rumor that buttons disappear first for offers and then for rejections, and they don't disappear for waitlists.

Obviously, this is a small sample size, but is remarkably consistent.

I think drawing a "remarkably consistent" conclusion from 4 of 6 applicants in support of a hypothesis that points towards acceptance/rejection, and 1 (one) applicant to draw a conclusion that "strongly supports" the rumour about the button not disappearing for waitlisted applicants is just a little bit tough mate, especially for a course with an average of 409 applicants a year.

Also, MLF and BCL applications aren't reviewed by the same panel and so there's no reason to think any alleged trend about how MLF applications are processed applies to the BCL/MJur. A far better comparison will likely be the MJur as opposed to the MLF.

Its okay i think i'll be the one to break this rumour. In MLF my button did disappear in the evening of Thursday and i received a rejection, in BCL my button disappeared around 11am Wednesday but i seriously honestly doubt an acceptance 1f602

I understand that all of us are extremely nervous and are perhaps trying to pacify ourselves by finding patterns which suit our different hypotheses. However, it could very well be that there is no method to this madness and we're only just adding to each others' misery. Let's just wait for the emails and hope that they bring us some calm.

Read through some of the profiles of the posters on this forum. It seems those with buttons disappearing today are much more likely to have reported Cambridge offers.
