They told me that there is no ranking within the waitlist and that the waitlist was comprised of 20 people (including both BCL and Mjur). My impression was that the waitlist this year had something to do with covid-19 and uncertainty re numbers rather than being something that happens every year (I could be wrong).

I got the same email. Fingers crossed for an offer.

I got an email saying that there are 70 people on the waitlist so now I really don't know what to think...

So my email told me that I was in the top 20 candidates on the wait list but I wasn’t told how many were actually on the waiting list if that clarifies some.

Is there anyone on the waitlist of MLF still waiting? I received an email saying that the outcome of waitlist will be sending out in the end of April but the faculty says they cannot tell us the ranking or position on the waitlist.

Hello everyone,

First of all, congratulations to all those who made it into their chosen course!

Having initially been placed on the waiting list for the BCL, I was also recently notified that the Faculty wished to offer me a place.
I was wondering if any of you knows whether there is any chance that my application would be considered for a scholarship, despite being a "waitlist candidate". I have an offer from another top university where I might get a scholarship, and while the BCL is my first choice, funding is a big concern for me.

Thanks for your help!

Hi, I think that in order to be considered for a scholarship at Oxford, a candidate has to receive an offer in the January deadline (excluding the waiting list). Maybe try to find external scholarships for the BCL ( I know some governments offer such funding opportunities)?

Hi!

Thanks for the reply! I guess that makes sense. Might email graduate admissions to ask them exactly how it works.

Anybody else still on the waiting list? Should I be concerned I haven’t heard anything?

Best,

I'm on the waiting list for the MLF programme and have not heard anything yet. I have accepted another offer from Oxford, so I think I will drop out from the waiting list.

BTW, has anyone heard anything re colleges?

I haven’t heard anything either. I have written to Oxford though and they told me that places might become available in late September or so. That means that we won’t hear anything negative until the end of September and could get a place anytime between now and the start of the program. It seems logical since some people can drop out just before start of term - especially now with the Corona ):

Hi there! I got an offer for the MJur yesterday, so I assume that anything may happen. I am just concerned that at least a part of the programme will be held online... anyway, good luck guys!
