Hi you all
Has anybody received and offer or rejection from Cambridge regarding the LLM course (entry October 05) yet ?
A good buddy of mine is keen to know, since Cambridge is his first choice.
Thanks for your feedback in advance - Diego

Admission letters have been sent out for 2005 already. See http://www.llm-guide.com/board/2464 ("Cambridge acceptance")

Not true, I know lots of people who applied who have not heard anything (and we're talking high calibre students who have offers from Oxford and NYU already).
Don't worry about it - they seem to just be taking their time.

Thanks, Joseph
I fully agree with you, since that's the impression I have, too.
By the way, which programme in Commercial Law would you recommend to a non-common-law student having obtained acceptance to Oxford as well as Cambridge? The MJur at Ox or the LLM at Cam?
Cheers - Diego

Do you know if the fact that they have sent you an offer letter should be reflected on the self-service page? Or is it not updated?

Hello Zelda,
I think nobody has received an offer from Cambridge yet...still waiting...And the self-service page must be updated but there are no decisions yet...
Good luck and congratulations for Oxford!
Cheers,
JG

Diego et al,
I think the Oxford course is generally better than the Cambridge LLM. This is especially the case if you are interested in commercial law. If you were interested in International Law or even Administrative Law then there might be a good case to go to Cambridge but for general commercial law I would say Oxford wins hands down.
However, Cambridge does have very good Corporations academics like Cheffins, Ferran and Deakin but that is more likely to be worthwhile for a doctorate than a masters.

45 minutes ago, I received an e-mail with a conditional offer from Cambridge.
This is the first part of the e-mail:
"Dear [....]
LL.M. Course - Conditional Offer of Admission for academical year 2005-2006
Thank you for applying for the Cambridge LL.M. We are very pleased to tell you that the LL.M. Admissions Committee has decided to make you a conditional offer of admission for the LL.M. course at the University of Cambridge starting in October 2005. This is not the formal notification of your offer - you will receive that by post from the Board of Graduate Studies in due course, but we wanted to let you know of our decision as soon as possible. The Committee was impressed by your achievements and we look forward to your participation in next year's course."

Xena and Meghna,
Thank you!
I am from Scandinavia (yes, that rather chilly part of Europe).
I hope you both are admitted as well!

Hi,
I also received the conditional offer today. I'm from Asia.
Hope that you will all receive news soon. Don't worry, I think it's taking the Law Faculty some time.

Congratulations!
I have a question: does "conditional offer" mean you have to fulfil some condition to be admitted (e.g., present transcript or English language test results) or it is simply what they call an offer before you receive a college offer? I have this question because the self-service page for some reason only mentions "conditional offers".

I have a question for those who have received a conditional offer: does the self-service website get updated to "Offer Set" before, at the same time, or after you receive the email?
Is there any point continuing to check the self-service page?
