Hi all. I received my unconditional letter of offer from UCL in the mail on Friday. good luck to everyone.

Hey!

Does anyone know how long approx. it takes for UCL to send an offer letter (by post, to a UK address) after having send "the" email that they have recommended you a place?

It's been five weeks since I got that email, and I'm getting fed up waiting!

It would be great to know how long it took with other applicants, so do let me know.. it takes a bit of the tension away ;)

Hi Betelgeuse. I received the the email with the recommendation on 17 Feb and the letter arrived in the mail on 25 March. I think that if you do not hear anything in the next week it's worth giving the admissions team a call to find out if you can get the letter faxed to you.

Thanks!

In fact, ironically enough, the letter came the next day :) Its a conditional offer but I'm practically sorted; all I need is to pass this year in order to get the average grade they want me to get. So I'll see you lot next year then! Enjoy exam revision and/ or holidays...

I applied waaayyyyyy back ! got a conditional offer soon after. I sent my IELTS score about a month back (overall 8), have not heard from them since. Need i worry ? how much time do they usually take to make an unconditional offer once the condition have been fulfilled ?

I applied to UCL just before the 1 April date (before the fee was introduced). I received my letter acknowledging my application on April 11, stating that I would receive a response by 1 June. I have still not heard anything. I know it has been less than 4 weeks but I wanted to know if anyone else has received an offer during this time and applied roughly the same time as me.
I realise it was a busy period for the admissions department as everyone was trying to apply before then to avoid the fee - so I don't know if this is why I still haven't heard or because they leave the rejections till later and send offers first?

@ Good Gosh : I applied by Jan 17 and was supposed to receive an answer by 22nd March. But, when I called them on April 10 complaining that I hadn't received any update on my application status they replied that it was still under consideration and would take another week at least. Finally, I received a letter today, i.e. 5th May, that I was being recommended for an offer.

So be prepared to wait for an endless amount of time (lol), or at the very least until June 1st.

Good luck!

guys,
do you know if LSE can admit to waive one of the conditions stated in the offer letter?
In my case, I have a conditional offer. The condition is to pass the TOEFL (109) or IELTS (7.5) with a minum of 7.0 (24) in both writing and listening skills. I just received my IELTS score (7.5); however, I got 6.5 in the writing element.
I just request to waive that condition.
Do you have any experience on these situations? Or know anyone who had a similar experience?
Thank you!!!

Strangely enough, I got an email today stating that I have been recommended for an offer from the Admissions Tutor and should receive an official offer letter within 6 weeks from now. Yay :)

Hi,

I received an email indicating that i was offered admission to UCL. The formal acceptance will follow sometime in the coming weeks.

I am curious as to what the conditions often are regarding final degrees? The email did not indicate any conditions but did say that the formal letter might include them.

I had a 66 avg last year with which i applied. This year my avg is a little lower (around 63).

Are conditions for UCL usually a min 65 requirement? I'm heading into my finals and am rather nervous that i might loose the offer if i don't come out with a 67. (in order to avg out a 65)

Anyone ever hear of a mere 63 getting the job done?

Thanks
