Has LSE waitlisted everybody who applied or have they sent rejections also???
Posted Feb 11, 2008 15:49
Hi attorney, I personally think that everyone who is not accepted is waitlisted. I have been waitlisted almost for 9 weeks. But the two weeks around Xmas are excluded from the period stated for reconsideration of waitlisted applications as I was told by LSE. After all places have been distributed LSE announces to waitlisted people that unfortunately there are no places left. I think they just do not want to reject applicants and so they do it in this way. But on the other hand I noticed on this forum that a year ago one waitlisted guy had been offered place. So still there is a chance!!!

With due consideration to the holiday season, even my ten-week period got over today. Still nothing!

Hi Guys,
I dont know how much of a consolation this is going to be, I know what must be going through everyone's mind at this point of time. I am at present doing an LLM at LSE and I must tell you guys that sometimes things happens very slowly here, they might take some time to make a decision, sometimes considering the large volume of application that they recieve. I am sure everyone must hear something by the midweek of march. Dont lose hope guys, there is still enough time before they make the decisions. Last year many of my friends heard back fomr them towards the end of march and some had got only conditional offers initally, but they are all here now.
If you guys need any help specifically, do not hesitate to contact me.

Hi mrindia
I haven't been able to come up with any plausible reason as to why have they side-tracked my application completely. I applied on the 5th of December which was more than ten weeks ago. There are people with decisions who applied in mid/late December. A waitlisted person above applied on the 9th of January. Finally, i wrote to them today. The unknown is driving me up the wall. Do you think there can be any explanation?

I applied towards the end of Jan and got a letter last week informing me that I've been waitlisted. I just got a letter from my Uni letting me know that I was in the Top 15% of my class. Do you think I should forward this to LSE so as to help my application or do you guys think not to bother?

Hi g_osinuga,
I'm actually unable to really help you with your query. But personally I would send it, sounds really good top 15%.
I applied in late January too, but haven't heard anything yet. If you don't mind telling, when did you submit your application?
Thanks

And here we go. I applied on Jan.25, then changed my essay several days later, and today found out that I'm on waitlist. The whole process took 4 weeks, but has produced an unsatisfactory result. Now I have a different kind of agony:-( Who knows how much time it will take...

Thumy,
I submitted my application Jan 26th so I was quite surprised that they replied early, thats probably because they put me on the waiting list. Where else did u apply to and have you heard anything back from anyone yet? I applied to LSE, UCL and Oxford.

Hey cutestchic,
I'm getting a bit nervous since most of you heard back already. I submitted my application on Jan 25th. I applied also to Cambridge, UCL, KCL and Queen Mary, but I have sent the others -except Cambridge- only around Feb 10th. So I think it might take some time. Did you hear from UCL?

Dear All:
it seems that I have find my club :) as I also have applied to LSE on 30 January 2008. I am under consideration and they did not contact me... I do not hope to hear from them until the beginning of April, to be honest...
As I understood from this discussion, quite a few people got responses from them during the estimated 8 weeks time gap... so I think it will be a loooong waiting.

I submitted the complete application to UCL and within 4 days they have sent we the aknowledgement letter, that stated the exact day by which they will make their decision on my admission. Though, I still have to wait for 2 weeks...

Thumy,
I applied to UCL last year and got accepted but deferred my entry which they were very good about. I've not heard back from Oxford and to be honest, I doubt it will be favourable. Fingers crossed though!!
What specialisation are you interested in?
