Just got an offer from UCL however im not sure about the specialism i chose.. anyone know if its actually possible to change it?

I thought UCL admits for a general LLM and the student gets to choose which specialism to pursue or even LLM simpliciter. I hold an offer to pursue LLM in UCL and I have the option of choosing a specialism later. Correct me if yours is to the contrary.

I was under the impression that you apply for a specific specialism because when I was applying my personal statement asked why I'm interested in the specific specialism + the written exercise had to show why I'm so focused in this area/experience. But hopefully you're right!

Has anyone here received an admissions decision lately from LSE? For those of you who have already received an offer: how long before you received an offer did your transcripts drop down? A few days before? Same day? Thank you so much for your input.

Any chance UCL can give an expedited decision in 4-5 weeks from applying?

I finished my UCL application on 8th February. I called them today and they told me that the Faculty has recommended an offer but it's subject to final checks by the admission. There's no change of status on portico yet.

Hi guys!

I know that it has already been discussed a number of times on this forum but I would once again ask- UCL or QMUL?

A couple of people in the past threads have stated that they’re friends have had the “worst experience” with LL.M in UCL. So, once again, I’m extremely conflicted.

What would you personally pick and why?

Hey guys!
I got an offer from KCL yesterday for the LLM Transnational Law. I was wondering what is the reputation of KCL's LLM, and especially the Transnational Law pathway?

I also hold an offer from Leiden University to study Public International Law, I don't know what to choose! Any advice?

I have the same doubt, can someone please help us answer this question?

My UCL portico status just changed to 'Currently being processed by Admissions', Does this mean that I'm mostly through? How long did it take for successful candidates to get a confirmation? Thank you!

It took around 1-2 weeks for me to get an offer (on the portal) after my status changed. But strangely the offer letter was dated around the date when the status had first changed.. I guess it’s taking them time to update the portals. Also, as far as I know, the change in status should mean that you’re mostly through! All the best!

Hi guys,
Is there any Colombian who applied to KCL? I got rejected under the argument that the minimum grade required in my previous studies is 4.5/5. This is a ridiculously high grade, and I found other web pages that said that 2:1 was equivalent to 3.8 not 4.5. Is there any other Colombian who got accepted?

Update on my UCL application:

I received an email today instructing me to check my UCL portico because there had been a change in my application status. When I checked, I found that I had been made a conditional offer.

The conditions of my offer are as follows: "This offer is made on the condition that you provide documentary evidence, such as an official final transcript, to confirm the award of your Juris Doctor degree with a final Cumulative Grade Point Average of at least 3.6/4.3 and with a final average mark of at least 3.8/4.3 in your final year as soon as you are able to."

Good luck to everyone still waiting! My application to UCL was complete on Feb. 17 and just received my offer today, Mar. 28.

What exactly is your grade? 3.8/5.0 is only equivalent to a good 2:2 at most, and there is little hope that it can you get into almost any UoL internal LLM degree. To be realistic, perhaps you should go for something not as good.
