LLM UCL / KCL / LSE / QMUL 2019-20

Karabas03

Hi there. Late applicant here. I’ve applied to QMUL for an LLM in Banking on May 7 and UCL for an LLM (with specialist degree in Banking too) on May 13. I hold an equivalent to First Class Honors from my MsC in Banking and Economics, but only a Lower Second from my Bachelor of Laws (young and lazy back then). I graduated Law School in 2014 and finished my first master’s in 2017. Any thoughts on probability of acceptance?
Thanks!

Hi, really difficult to comment. Please keep us in the loop.

Just received an unconditional offer from QMUL. Still waiting to hear from UCL

Congrats! Which country are you from?

Really can't decide between UCL and LSE.. want to combine environmental/corporate/financial crime.. any advice guys? LSE seems to have lower student satisfaction scores but probably more prestigious..

I had the same dilemma, but ultimately decided to accept the offer from LSE because it is more prestigious. As someone from the US, I chose LSE because it has a much better international reputation. No one here has even heard of UCL, so it won't help me in my future job search.

Fair enough.. I ended up choosing UCL because from what i've heard students are happier there and i keep hearing lse is soulless.. hard choice though. They're both fantastic universities

Hi,

I am a lawyer practicing in India. I have now been practicing for over 4 years now. I have graduated from one of the premier law schools in India. However my grades are not great. I have a 3.3/7. It is of any use applying to QMUL, UCL, LSE or Kings for an LLM ?

UCL's LLM page says that the application deadline for the fall is July 26, although they may close it earlier. Due to a change of plans I'm looking for an LLM this fall and that would be great if I could still apply. Does anyone know if they're still accepting applications?

DID YOU GET THROUGH AMSTERDAM OR ERASMUS LAW? IF PART WAIVER OF TUITION FEES GO THERE - EXCELLENT TEACHING METHODOLOGY, COURSE, FACULTY AND STAFF.

DID YOU GET OXFORD OR CAMBRIDGE? OR DID YOU GET THROUGH SOMEWHERE ON FULL TUITION FEES SCHOLARSHIP IN UK THEN GO THERE. FULL SCHOLARSHIP SAVES MONEY, TIME & TENSION. IT LOOKS GREAT ON CV. BUT NOTHING BEATS OXFORD & CAMBRIDGE.

IMPERIAL & UCL ARE WORLD CLASS UNI IN UK RIGHT AFTER OXBRIDGE. THEY ARE AS GOOD AS STANFORD USA. QMUL IS BERKELEY OF EUROPE WHILE KINGS IS CORNELL.

TOP FOR LAW ARE - OXFORD CAMBRIDGE THEN A BIG GAP UCL LSE QMUL KINGS WARWICK SOAS CITY NOTTINGHAM SOUTHAMPTON EDINBURGH ABERDEEN KENT BIRMINGHAM LSBF MANCHESTER DURHAM HUGE GAP REST UK UNIS FOR LAW

NOW UCL LSE QMUL KINGS CITY SOAS ARE UNDER UOL & ARE IN LONDON - SO CLEAR WINNERS

ALL ARE FANTASTIC ESPECIALLY UOL AND FOR LONDON LOCATION. GO FOR QMUL IF ARBITRATION AND CORPORATE LAW BUT IF ITS BANKING & FINANCE COURSES GO TO LSE OR KCL. BUT REMEMBER UCL IS THE BEST.

[ANSWERED] YOU HAVE TO DO TON OF SOCIALIZING & NETWORKING AS THAT FORMS 50% OF THE LIFE IN LONDON AS A STUDENT. FORGET TRAVELLING IN UK OR EU PRIORITY SHOULD BE - ACHIEVING A MERIT 65% + AND SOCIALISING NETWORKING - PROFESSIONAL AND STUDENT NETWORKING EVENTS. I AND MANY OF MY FRIENDS GOT PAID INTERNSHIPS AND NEWS ON REAL JOB VACANCIES IN SUBWAY/WETHERSPOONS/BBC/SAINSBURY/WATHAM LATKINS/JPMORGAN VIA THOSE SOCIALIZING NETWORKING EVENTS. TOUKER SULYEMAN, DUCCIO ZAMBRINI, GAIA BECK, ALINA BLINOVA, JULIA TITOVA, FRANCESCO TRIVELLI ARE THE PEOPLE WHO CHANGED OUR LIVES.

SO GO TO LONDON, STUDY HARD, MAKE FRIENDS AND DO SOCIALIZING NETWORKING

GO TO LONDON UNLESS YOU GOT OXBRIDGE OR FULL SCHOLARSHIP FOR OPPORTUNITIES OF SOCIALIZING & NETWORKING AND THEN A JOB.......

ALL THE BEST

Hi everybody, I've received an offer from LSE and I finally met the english requirements.

I was also considering to apply to UCL just for the same environment concerns shared by others, even if I do consider LSE the most prestigious among the UoL and I think that the prestige should be the right driver.

By the way, do any other italians in here received offers from LSE ? Is there any group available for offer holders (whatsapp/FB/Linkedin/...) ?

Thank you !

Hello, I received an offer from KCL yesterday (applied on March 25). I also had an offer from QMUL for the Intellectual Property Law Programme. I know that IP Law at Queen Mary is well known but still I wonder if I should not prefer King's for its international reputation. Anyone in IP Law ? :) Good luck !

Hey I am in the same situation right now, which university did you end up accepting? Did you consider Ip LLM at Ucl by any chance?
