LLM UCL / KCL / LSE / QMUL 2018-19

Hello I have applied late March to both KCL (22nd of march) ... and got offers from both of them in late April approximately 1 month later.

I applied ealier (19th) but they told me that my application is still "under consideration" last week. I guess it means that they are waiting for those who have received an offer to confirm, which sucks balls.

They told me that they were missing my documents in April though. I wonder if that made a difference. But then a couple of days later they said that they actually weren't missing anything. It was really odd.

I have applied on the 27th of March. And the same thing happened with me. In April they told me they needed an official transcript of my grades. But as I am still an undergraduate, i dont have official results. It was weird because they other universities ive applied were okay with that unofficial transcript i ve uploaded. Plus is the first deadline done? I mean if you check the application status for further applications for the master of laws is says open.

Hi all,

Is applying late march too late to get an offer?

thnx

Hello I have applied late March to both KCL (22nd of march) and QMUL (27th of march) and got offers from both of them in late April approximately 1 month later. I’m pretty sure you made it on time don’t worry:) when somehing change in the system you will receive an email telling you to check the system but sometimes these mails can end up in spam folder so I advise you to check your spam mails too:) hope you hear from them soon

oh great! congratulations :) I got an offer from QMUL and waiting for KCL. They asked for my transcript even though I submitted earlier in my application. They sent and apology email last week for being late on a decision, hope that turns out with good news :) I am good with QMUL though, I am studying on IT law mainly and QMUL is great on this particular area.

It's been bugging me for a very long time and I've just about started my LLM preparation. So here are my queries:

1. Firstly, I have a pretty mediocre CGPA of 7.5 (56%) from an Indian university- which I guess equals to around 2:2 (lower second class)
2. Secondly, I have a few decent internships (8-9 in total), runners-up in a moot, 5-6 publications and work experience of about 6-7 months so far.

I want to know what are my chances to get into any of these Universities considering I would be working for about 10-12 months more before I leave for my Masters. Also, how can I further improve my standing to get into the reputed ones? I can't very well do anything about my miserable grades but is there anything else I can use to make my Resume much more attractive to the Admissions Team as compared to, let's say, another dude with a 8.5+ CGPA but pretty ordinary resume as regards to his other achievements.

Please guide, thank you!

I applied only to QMUL as I wanted to do IP law. It has a great IP program.

Congratulations on your offer from QMUL! I’ve also heard that QMUL is really great in IT Law it would be a great opportunity for you! I guess KCL will reply soon perhaps they have received too many applications that they was a complication with some of the documents submitted. Hope you’ll hear from them soon and I hope it’s good news:) either way I think QMUL is perfect for your area of interest hope everything will turn out great for you!

I hear that their IP program is very good! Do you think that it's better than the program at KCL?

True that. I'm constantly refreshing with the hope that there will be an update.. when did you apply? I've applied on the 27th of March.

I applied on the 25th. I assume they would have an indication of who they don't want, I just wish if they are going to reject me they do it sooner so I can start job hunting.

Congratulations to all the offer holders !!!
I'm in a turmoil and I'm not sure if anyone here can help me with this query but here it goes:

I applied to kcl for LLM and got a conditional offer from them...

It's likely that I will miss the condition by 1 or 1.5% (they needed me to get an aggregate of 65 and I'm gonna land around 63.5/64 - awaiting final year results)..

I have a good Resume with 10 internships, all hedged in the top law firms/judges of the country.

I'll be glad and thankful if somebody can help me answer this query;

1. Whether Kcl will still consider my application and what are the chances of getting in?
2. Whether I should wait for a year and apply to UCL ( since it has lower requirement than kings).

The reason I didn't apply to UCL this year was due to some mis-calculations.

PS: I have offers from QMUL, Reading, Glasgow, Durham and Edinburgh but not really keen on going to these places ( since it's a huge investment and if I can do better, I will prefer that even if it takes ayear).

Thanks guys..

Having spoken to the admissions staff about entry requirements, they have stated they base decisions mainly on undergraduate results. This might mean if you dont make the conditions of your offer, they dont let you in.

I heard back from KCL too, they made me a conditional offer on the completion of my master's degree in my home country however even though I have completed all the credits and courses, my degree certificate will not be issued (due to the bureaucratic procedures) until the time KCL requested. I will decline their offer under these circumstances.
