Hi jackoune,
i heard that accomodation hired off-campus is cheaper and more comfortale. Initially, i was thinking about taking the option with off-campus.

Hey Denverina,
I was also thinking about it at first but:
1) the lease is 1 year long so you have to start to rent your flat from july or august till july or august 2009 and we will be done with the LLM at the end of June .
2) there is a serious shortage in the student accomodation in Aberdeen, some students had to live in hotel!!! because they destroyed a part of the halls to rebuild it!
So, you can arrive without any accomodation in september but I think that is risky...!

Hmm that is really something to think over as I am not sure where would be better for me to live... I think in this case in-campus would be more safe and not risky.
Btw, can I ask you- when you 've sent your accomodation form via fax or e-mail, did they give you response? I mean have they already started confirming the accomodation booking? rg I faxed them the accom form but still awaiting the response... is there any student in same situation as mine?

I have confirmed it by mail (post), 2 days ago.
I think, they gonna need at least 1 month to manage with it, so do not worry!

Hello,
All the people who are posting on this tread are going to join aberdeen uni next september.
Most of them are going to follow the international business law or oil and gas law focus....
Anyway, you can change during the first fortnight, you are not obliged to stay in the specialization you chose!!

Hello,
I think you can still apply for it.
"The entire application and admissions process, from submitting your complete application to being cleared for admission and receiving your Certificate of Acceptance, can take several weeks. For international students, all postgraduate taught programmes beginning in September 2008 have a deadline of the 1st of July 2008."
So you still have 2 weeks to apply!!!!
Phone them
+44 (0)1224 273 506.
They are very very nice with students..
You can already prepare the following documents:
* your degree certificate and a transcript of your academic results (if you have not yet completed a course of study, please provide a transcript of your results to date)
* two original references (including at least one academic reference from your current or most recently attended institution)
* proof of English language ability if English is not your first language.
(Our current English language requirements are IELTS 6.5 overall with 6.0 in the writing or TOEFL 580 overall (237 for the computer test) with 4.5 in the writing. For the Internet Based TOEFL exam we require a minimum overall score of 90 and your writing score must fall in the 20-24 bracket.)
I hope it helps!!

Hey,
For the financial question, I think there will have no pblm about it.
Indeed, you do not have to pay the whole amount of the LLM in october but I think you can pay in three or four times. Therefore, you can ask to your family to give to you around 1000 pounds for the first payment.
I gonna join the LLM oil and gas law.
I am sure it is the best programme in that area. Indeed, there are already a lot of big four firms which proposed me a contract to work with them.
In addition, you have plenty of companies specialized in that particular area.
Thus, there are plenty of jobs, and it is an area where you can travel.
The programme is one year long, so if you start in january you will finish in january the year after

Hey I am sorry I do not have any idea about this LLM.
Maybe you should start a new topic about it, I am sure there are some students in that area!
