Hi there,
I am in a dilemma right now and need advise from this board to sort things out. I am planning to do an LLM in International Tax and have got offer from three Universities:
King's College London
Queen Mary, University of London
Leiden University, Netherlands
I need to now take a decision, on which University should I join for an LLM in International Tax. I have looked at the facilities and other resources that are available at these Universities and fine with all three of them. I am also fine with UK & Netherlands as place to study and don't have a preference regarding the location.
Could you please advise me as to which one would be a better option. Looking at the rankings, Kings and Queen Mary are in the UK list and Lieden in the Europe list, so I can't really compare all three based on a common list. Please let me know if you need any more details from my side.
Thanks in advance
Congratulations on your offers, the three of them are excellent universities! Personally I'd say King's is the best, but I think you should consider a series of factors and then make a final decision.
- Location: We're talking about two different countries, so you must surely have a preference. I don't know what your mother tongue is, so also bear in mind daily life and hearing English or Dutch everywhere.
- Money: Of course this is also a key aspect. London is a fantastic city, but also very expensive. For the cost of accommodation in London you could surely find something cheaper (and nicer) in Leiden.
- Course content: Have a thorough look at all the modules offered, lecturers, etc.
- Facilities: Check photos, services offered by those 3 universities...
Best of luck!
