Cambridge PhD in Law 2024 Fall

Conditional offers are issued by the PAO, not the Faculty. Once recommended for an offer by the Department and the Degree Committee, the PAO just double checks whether the documents you submitted are in line with their requirements / there is any falsified document / you do not come from a verifiable university etc. It's clearly technical - the PAO can't assess your application on merits. Once approved by the PAO, they proceed with issuing your conditional offer.

Does anyone know what the conditional offer from faculty means in practice? I guess I’m wondering what the PAO step entails if - for example - you don’t have outstanding llm subjects etc? Could the PAO reject you on other grounds?

No, mine still says that it’s under review by department. I’m starting to worry that that’s a bad sign.. I had an interview on the 26th of January.
Best of luck everyone. I really hope we’ll all meet each other in October!

When do you think we should expect to hear from PAO?

The website says that the PAO needs approximately 7 days, but, in my experience, they were relatively slow in processing the LL.M. applications - last year I was at the PAO stage for like 15 days or so. Most probably we will here back this week.

So sorry. If this helps: last year I got rejected and this year I got in. So, if you want Camb, reshape or do another project and go for it once again.

Both portal and email. The PAO usually releases the offers in rounds (a batch at a time) around 3-4pm UK time, so keep an eye tomorrow afternoon!
