Has anyone's Status on the Applicant Portal changed from "under review by Department"?
Mine is still the same.

Mine is the same as well. Getting really anxious now.

Mine hasn't changed either. I wouldn't particularly worry about it. People's status changed at a very late stage last year.

His applicant portal says that his application is rejected. I was surprised he has 1st and 2nd year mark of 74.

Sorry to hear that!
Do you know whether he got also notified by e-mail about his rejection?
I must confess that I'd rather be unhappy if I were forced to press the refresh button for the next couple of days in the applicant portal...

By any chance would you know the date in which he applied?

So they first change the status of rejected applications? And then proceed to the successful ones?

Generally, yes: "If your application is unsuccessful, you may receive notification of the outcome earlier. This is not because your application was not fully considered; this is because the process for establishing all the components of an offer is time consuming".
But not getting a rejection now doesn't mean you'll get in for sure. I read the 18-19 thread and some people got rejected later on.

I agree. Last year, some applicants have been informed of their rejection on their applicant portal before any offers were sent while others got rejected after most offers were released.
Btw I think that offers were extended to applicants who were still at the "department review" stage. It seems that the 'bad news' is likely to appear on the portal while the 'good news' should come in your inbox.

Any news? I really hope that we'll have some news by the end of this week. The wait is killing me.

Nothing from my part.
Nothing from my part.

While we can hope for movement in our application trackers, the admissions office did say we should wait until March 1. In any case, I got an offer of admission last year and I remember that my application tracker changed from under review/consideration by 'department' to under review/consideration by 'degree committee' before I got my admission offer. I wasn't able to ask for deferral so I applied again. I think we can expect the same decision process. Here's the relevant website, too: https://www.graduate.study.cam.ac.uk/after-applying/selection-process

Absolutely! The worst part is that I am checking my status on applicant portal again and again because I am so scared.

So I suppose the question is, has anybody's status changed to under review by committee yet?

Not in my case and, in my experience, the application status would change even after one receives the offer by email. However, it would seem that in cases of rejection, the status will change immediately.

Based on the website (https://www.graduate.study.cam.ac.uk/timescales), it takes approximately seven days for the degree committee to review the department recommendation, and another seven days for the board to review the committee recommendation. Counting backwards from March 1, I would think any status change is to be expected starting on Friday, February 15. I hope we receive positive results before then, of course! Good luck to us all!

You mean it wouldn’t change? Bit confused here, so are we saying that if the status doesn’t change to committee review within the next week or so we can expect bad news? Or that this is no indication
