Waiting is always the most annoying part as you are not busy with anything so you have time to get annoyed, haha)

Heart if you're still 'under review'.

This stage is getting real annoying now haha

Am I right in saying that people have already been rejected by Cambridge for this course? If so, the status ''under review by Department" might not be so ominous. I don't think that they would drag it out so long if they knew that they didn't want to offer you a place. They might be updating portal statuses on a country-by-country basis. I think that the only time to panic would be if it got to 1st March and there was still no status change - that seems to be the deadline by which candidates are recommended to the GAO.

Good luck to everyone!

There is no information about rejections. I think we would have heard.

That's what I think too, particularly given that people earlier in the thread suggested that some applicants had already received rejection notices. There's no way of knowing this for sure, but I think that they if really wanted to reject us (as they have apparently done for others), they would have already done it. So hopefully no news is indeed good news.

I mean that may be they have not proceeded to sending rejections at all.
But I hope that you are right)

It's possible, but I read earlier on in this thread that people knew peers/friends who had already been rejected and notified via the portal. So, who knows?

Am I the only one who thinks @Konos is just a troll? Just think, he was the one that claimed his friend got rejected early on when neither of us had any changes in our applications, let alone a rejection. Then, a couple of days ago, he wrote a message in this thread asking if GAO status was a good thing when in fact it has been said here over and over again what it means, surely someone who’s been here for a while knows what it is. And now this.

Buddy, @Konos, please stop trolling us here, think about your karma

In my experience, there’s usually a few trolls in all of these types of threads. A number of years ago when I was applying for clerkships in Sydney (the equivalent of training contract applications in London), every thread had the same old trolls posting about made up acceptances or rejections.

I’m still on the departmental review stage and it doesn’t bother me one bit. To be honest, I check the portal once every 5 days or so. No need to stress yourself out about something that’s not in your control. Distract yourself with more important things and down the track you either will or won’t get an acceptance email.

You’re absolutely correct. There’s no point of refreshing the applicant portal every few minutes. We should all just keep praying and waiting!
