I got a similarly ambiguously worded condition. My degree is awarded on the basis of a cumulative grade point average for all 5 years of the course. The condition is worded saying " You must graduate obtaining GPA of 5.7 for final year." So I am completely unsure whether they mean that this is at the end of final year or only for final year particularly because no one from my university has ever been given this sort of a condition. Please do let me know when they reply.

Does anyone happen to know whether offer conditions that say you have to get a 1.0 in the final year mean a 1.0 across the modules you're taking in final year or your overall degree classification as my degree is calculated from an average of the second and third years. I tried emailing but have got no response :/

I've been wondering the same thing, actually. Would you be so kind as to let me know if you get a response? Thanks!

Will do! They said they'd get back to me within 5 days so given how well Cambridge keep to their response deadlines I should have an answer by August :)

I think you do not need to worry. My BCL offer says basically the same thing (though in UK terms) but the course administrator made it clear (without my asking) in an e-mail that this is generic wording and that it actually means that I have to get a First overall. The systems at Cambridge and Oxford are, I guess, similar to each other and may seem ambiguous to non-Oxbridge undergrads. I bet your Cambridge offer means 1.0 overall.

Also, I have a question about one of my offers. Has anyone ever heard of the 31st July deadline being extended? I need to submit evidence that I would have completed my studies by that date (which is understandable), but I have my doubts as to whether I will meet the deadline. I have a thesis that I need to submit and I have my reservations as to whether it will be corrected by then

Neither have I - from looking at past threads it seems people hear back over the next few weeks though I'm not sure whether the fact offers have been given out later this year will have an effect on when we will find out. Did anyone apply for Jesus?

Hi Dela Cour I share similar concerns, I am worried that the transcript won't be out by 31 July, but as I read from the offers booklet that in case "your current course finishes after the start date (including any academic pre-sessional courses of your upcoming course), you should sign and upload the 'current course of study declaration' confirming that you will provide evidence of completion of your course before the start of term. "

I wonder if this is applicable because for my case, my course finishes before the start date, but the transcript may not be ready before the deadline for meeting conditions. If anyone has a clue, grateful if you could let us know.

I have the exact same issue. My course will finish on the 30 June, however I usually receive all my results by mid-August. I had emailed Ms Wade but I have not, as yet, gotten a reply

As an alternative to that, I see that they also accept a letter/ certification from your home university to the same effect. However, if I have not completed the course yet, the best the university can do is to certify the normal period for the course (for me, it ends in mid- July, but it may also drag on to early September the latest if re-sits are required), so currently I am rather confused about the course of actions I should take. Appreciate if you could share with me in case Ms. Wade replies.

Join the club. And I called a week ago, was told it would be changed by last Thursday at the latest, and still nothing. Cambridge will receive a piece of my mind whenever this is over. This unprofessional treatment is nothing other than despicable.

Dear LouisJK, i had the same decision (MJur Oxford vs. LLM Cambridge) to make and eventually chose Cambridge. In my home country, they share the same reputation. So that wasn't a factor. However, the Oxford MJur programme seems to be a bit more rigid (heavy load of essays + supervisions), while Cambridge seems to give you a bit more space to work on your own. Personally I prefer the latter. Also, the tuition fee is lower for EU students and one of the courses I want to read isn't offered by Oxford this year.

Hi all,

First of all congrats to those who have received an offer and hang in there for those who are still waiting for one. Have a question, do you guys know the likelihood of Cambridge accepting a defferal due to a financial constraint that occur beyond one's control? There no doubt that I want to attend Cambridge, but the scholarship provider I was aiming at made an abrupt change of policy that basically only allows applicants to attend their chosen uni the following year, i.e., 2018.

I have been rummaging older posts and other forums but seem to gather very little information. I've tried to call Ms. Wade, but her answer was negative yet pretty template-ish. I hope to have some insights from practice/ experiences, if you guys have heard/ go through any. Thank you!
