Cambridge LLM 2015-16

Nana89, indeed, there's a huge difference in reputation between both of them. And there's a financial difference as well, since Cambridge is way cheaper.

Michigan, on the other hand, is still a very traditional american law school, ranked among top 10 in the country.. My decision will obviously consider this difference.

What buggers me is the difficulty of acquiring temporary jobs in the UK after the completion of the LLM program. While it is hard in the US, I don't know a single person who earned a LLM degree from Cambridge and found a job. Do you know if it's even possible to?

Wait.. so all the LLm degree holders you know are currently jobless? Not a single TC or pupillage? oh dear..

I was wondering what my chances as a non-eu citizen are to score a TC.. Do you guys know anyone who managed such a feat?
ps. I went to an RG uni for my undergraduate, but not Oxbridge.

They are not jobless, hell no! Hahaha

They just weren't able to score a TC or a pupillage in the UK and had to come back to Brazil right after graduation. They got jobs in Brazil, obviously hehe.

I got an offer from Queens' today, what do you guys think about QC? All I know is that the Mathematical bridge is at Queens. Would love to hear some tips/advice.

I'm guessing you hadn't put Queens down as one of your two choices then?

Just got an email from the BoGS this morning reg my conditional offer! Hadn't checked camsis since last week. Couldn't be happier!
I put down Darwin as my first preference but after reading this thread I am having second thoughts! I cannot change my preference now anymore as far as I know.

Thank you! Mine is still unavailable, wonder why... (Arrrrgh)

P.S. As far as I know, at Darwin there is always a pretty large LLM students community: I believe this is a strong advantage!

MGrace, mine was okay yesterday but now it's unavailable.

Did anything change in yours from yesterday to today? I guess they are either uploading my conditions - which have mostly been fulfilled - or maybe it's a college decision..

Conditional Offer made. Finally. Even though the academic condition is a little high, but I am hopeful about meeting it . *fingers crossed*

Hoping for some financial help now, the University Fees has really shot up man.

Oh, that's too bad.

My CamSIS is operating normally once again, and the conditions I fulfilled were removed.

Good luck!

I have received my college membership this afternoon, Darwin. Anyone has experience with this particular college?

Darwin is quite a modern college, looks quite nice from the inside, and for some reason its interior reminds me of the Cambridge Union building (which itself is one of the nicest small buildings in Cambridge). The college itself is located pretty well, as it's close both to the Law Faculty and to the city centre. Can't say much about food in general, but it was pretty good the one time I ate there.

Hi! Can anyone provide any information on the academic conditions requirement? What is the protocol if you're unable to meet it? Mine's set a little high, and now I'm worried. And since my final result won't be available till late July possibly, and it'll be too late to do anything by then, if I'm not able to meet this requirement, I'm wondering what I can possibly do about that right now, and if I should contact the GAO or Ms. Wade now?

Just got an acceptance from Darwin! Must say I didn't expect to get such a quick acceptance after a really long and agonizing wait by the Board of Graduate Studies. To those who have been offered a place at Darwin, in the accommodation form that has been mailed there is no option of choosing where would you prefer to get a room. So are we supposed to mail them separately regarding our preference? I have come to realise now that Darwin hardly offers funding opportunities and that is quite upsetting.
