Cambridge LLM 2015-16

Hi!

I called the admissions office last week to ask if it was certain we would get the results by the 15th of March. She said that most offers are made before however they can make offers until June 1rst... She said that all we should rely on is the status on our Camsis.

Hi guys,

Sorry for throwing this question to you in such a tense moment like this, but what is the IELTS score admitted candidates usually have ? Can 7.0 have a chance to pass the door ?

Gosh, waiting that long would be absolutely brutal. Hopefully that does not happen!

I'm still waiting to hear back but because I have a weird application path I don't even have access to CAMSIS. So it could be worse, all.

Guys I emailed Ms Wade and I got a response last night; she didn't say much but she said that we will receive a response shortly as decisions are finalised at the moment. So not having heard back yet doesn't mean that we are not in :)

Hi, many thanks for the information provided!
And does "decisions are finalised" mean that those who haven't view a status change have losed the chance to get an offer, at least before 15 March?
I'm a little nervous and good luck!

Not at all. Offers are made even after 15th March.

hey guys, so I just called the graduate admissions office asking when I could expect to find out after my status has reached the BOGS stage. The lady on the phone said that if you have been BOGSed then that means that for all intents and purposes you have been admitted. It just takes a while for the system to update. Just wanted to share this so all BOGSed people could stop worrying.

I have spoken to her just now.

She said to me that they're currently finalising their decisions and we'll all hear back probably this week.

Since my status is still unchanged, I don't expect them to come back to me with an offer.

What do you mean by this? In my country no one I know has got an offer and my status is still 'awaiting consideration'.

Dont you think that it would be ridiculous that only the 5 of us who have been BOGS-ed are the only admitted students? That should tell you that your status not having changed does not mean that you are not in. If you are not in, your status will read "application unsuccessful" Until then, keep hope alive.

Ahaha! True to your name, ever optimistic. I agree, lets keep the hope alive, and thank you!!

This is not the sort of deductive reasoning you want to be bringing to an LL.M...

People are just on tension and obviously anxious. This has nothing to do with their reasoning. It is just that when you are in a situation like this, you want to convince yourself of the worst so that in case it comes to pass, you do not feel very let down. It is simply a coping mechanism.

It is not over until it is written in bold "Application Unsuccessful." Until then, you are still in the race.

Well, I hope I am wrong about this. If Cambridge LLM is a no-go then it is just the BCL and the MLF decisions that I'll have to look forward to.

Has anybody from countries starting with the letter P seen any change in respect of their status?

Personally, i have never believed in the myth that the offers come in country by country and my last two application cycles have proved it. My country's first letter is among the last in the alphabet so if we are to go by the other theory, it would mean that i should still be waiting yet i am BOGS-ed already.

Hey guys. I am an Indian, and my status turned BOGs'd today. It only says "awaiting consideration by board of graduate studies". I just hope it means a positive news! Best of luck to everyone who is waiting for a status change.

I'm convinced that the Law department at Cambridge takes a look at this thread every day and that members of the BoGs have a nice laugh at all our creative theorization re admission/rejection. Maybe they're delaying their decisions to see what else we may come up with ;)

IF YOU'RE READING THIS, PLEASE UPDATE ME ON MY PHD APPLICATION: IT'S BEEN 4 MONTHS AND I HAVE KEPT FUNDING ELSEWHERE ON HOLD FOR YOU!!!
