Still under review. I am thinking of everyone who received rejections today. Don’t let it define you!

I am still under review but just got a rejection from Gates Cambridge Scholarship. Does any one think I still stand a chance of receiving an offer for the LLM or should I just call it a day, lol!

I just received a rejection from Gates as well and I am on PAO but haven’t gotten a conditional offer yet…I would have thought though we wouldn’t even be passed through for consideration for scholarships if not receiving an offer?

I know what the feeling is like — I was in your position one year ago when I received my Cambridge rejection. And yeah, in the end, Oxford also rejected me too but, hey, you never know about your specific case1f601

In any case, it really isn't the end of the world. Don't get me wrong — it can certainly feel like that (I've been rejected from Cambridge both for undergrad and postgrad so I should know1f62a) — but it really is worth repeating that there are just so many different paths of life out there. Sometimes we can really tunnel vision ourselves into focusing just on Oxbridge (I'm guilty of this too) and we forget the big picture.

If you haven't graduated yet, you can use the time now to pick up the pieces. You have a year to strengthen your academic profile — be it increasing your grade averages, getting involved in academic publications, being ambitious with your dissertation, etc.

If you have graduated, consider your other offers carefully (if you have them), be they from LSE, UCL, KCL, etc. If you're really gunning for Oxbridge, you could try again next year or consider doing a PhD/DPhil.

And this not to mention the fact that LLMs are not the only route. This is (kind of) my gap year and also my first year being exposed to the world of work. Maybe you'll find that you actually do also enjoy work. It may seem unthinkable if you've been an academic all your life, but you may be surprised.

This is informative but the number is a lot- over one thousand persons.  Do they give out that much offers? I would have said it’s a list of applicants for the 2020/2021 LLM Programme.

Snatch this one from somewhere, couldn’t remember. Some might be interested. It has countries, grades, and universities of those who got an offer in 2020-2021.

This is very informative and makes the admissions process quite transparent. A lot of other unis (Oxford, LSE and King's) have also provided similar data. I was surprised (and relieved) to see a few 2:1s. I think they really do assess applications holistically, and there are no sure-shot indications/guarantees of admission!

It is a list of all applicants. The second column tells you whether they have been given an offer (blank meaning no, "Y" meaning yes).

Thank you i really appreciate your kind words and motivation but i graduated in 2021 and worked under a sitting judge for 14 months even got their recommendation. Honestly don't know how i can do better than that for a college application but i guess it is what it is. Just immensely sad right now but still thank you :).
