Cambridge LL.M. Applicants 2022-2023

Gobbledygo...

Has anyone received an actual offer yet?

not me 1f625 I was one of the strange cases that got moved to PAO early - I got moved to PAO on March 2nd - but haven’t heard anything (offer or otherwise) since. Starting to get a bit nervous..

PAO used to take around 10-20 days last year (but sometimes up to 6 weeks in some extreme cases), tending towards the slower end of the spectrum in March compared to February. I wouldn’t worry about the time at PAO unless it takes more than that (even then, once sent to PAO, the only ones that can confirm anything is PAO and not the law fac, and PAO is much less likely to provide any useful response if you were to contact them). Considering the extra disruptions these days, rest assured things will go well and save the stress for the last 2-3 weeks of Easter term 2023 instead.

The decisions for all other law schools I’ve applied are out. I don’t understand why cam is being so laggy. It’s super annoying.

Last day of term at Cambridge. Sort of doubt the postgraduate admissions office follow that schedule though. They will after all be helping answer questions to those who have received offers etc. Still, I keep some hope we'll hear something today.

Hey guys,

I have just trawled through the entire of last years' thread and counted the rejections and movements to PAO (yes, sad, I know). Give or take one or two for human error, there were 18 rejections and 48 (yes, 48) movements to PAO.

My idea is this: Anyone who is still under review, like this comment. That will give us an idea of where we sit and allow us to re-gain our bearings after all this time. Tbh, I would be surprised if we even have 44 applicants left (accounting for those 4 or 5 who have already moved to PAO), so let's find out.

Did you count the rejections on this thread? I can't quite recall the exact number but it was certainly over 10.

just made this account to like the above post but I've been following this thread from the beginning.

two weeks ago I thought that would have been great news for those of us remaining but I simply have no idea now.

Good morning everyone and thank you so much r.999! Just remembered that someone had created the above overview (status 8 March, when we all still thought we'd be able to draw some conclusions), in case this is helpful for anyone who recently started reading here. I had thought about creating a WhatsApp group (to reach also those who do not have an account here) for everyone remaining, but this seems easier. :)

I genuinely think something has gone wrong. But there seem to be about 30-40 of us left here, which is comparable with the typical number of PAO movements. A rejection now would be utterly, utterly brutal.

This had happened in 2017 as well. I was an applicant then (reapplying now) and we were ‘under review’ till March end. I emailed the admissions office twice in March and got a response on April 1 that the Faculty of Law had recommended my application to GAO for an offer (but the status on the self service portal remained ‘under review’). We joked that this was an April Fools’ prank as we had been ‘under review’ for that long! A number of us eventually got conditional offers on April 10 (I couldn’t take it up for lack of funding), while others moved to GAO and got offers later.

I haven’t followed Cambridge’s pattern since then, but from what I have been reading on this thread, they have been releasing LLM results sooner. Not sure if this helps but because of my experience in 2017, I am just waiting it out as they do take their time.

Also, cannot comment on whether those of us still under review will definitely get offers, but I think we are closer to finding out now.

All the best to everyone waiting!
