Cambridge application 2018/2019

Hello everyone,
I have also received an e-mail offering me a place to the LLM program starting in October. However, my status on the applicant portal is still “under review by the department”. I am obviously very excited to receive this news, but I want to make sure first that there is no mistake especially since we are hearing so early compared to last year. I just hope that Cambridge learned from last year’s mistake of overly prolonged admissions process and got their act together this year, and that that’s the reason for these early responses. Anyway just to make sure I am going to call the admissions office in the morning just for my own peace of mind.
Based on the comments made so far, it seems that those who have been rejected have had their statuses changed to reflect the same. The fact that your status is "under review by the department" instead of "rejected" (together with the email) should be sufficient assurance that you've been accepted.

Did anyone receive the confirmation for the MCL program?

Cambridge sometimes takes its sweet time to update all applicants. There is no obvious trend that silence amounts to acceptance or rejection. It is just Cambridge being Cambridge.

Nope. There is no mistake. I am sure of that.

Congrats on all the offers.
What email address was it coming from? It wont be healthy for me to sit and refresh every few hours so I’d rather set an alert lol

I have called Miss Wade and she told me it is normal that our status still says "under review by the department". It will be updated today and then will be updated a second time when the details of our respective offers are available!

Applied to the Cam LLM. It's quite depressing waiting... particularly when I have a deadline tomorrow and I'm yet to finish! I have disabled my email and am trying to stay off this forum in the meantime, however can't help but feel that all the offers have been sent out by now (as per the BCL last year)... Not to be too pessimistic of course.

Congratulations to all who have already received an offer! Has anyone received any offer/rejection today (February 6, UK time)? Thank you.

Congrats to everyone! I got an offer last night at 6pm UK time. Do you plan on responding to the email, and, if so - to Miss Wade or to Professor Worthington?

I haven't received an offer yet, and also have not been rejected. I wonder how many of us are in this position, and what it is likely to mean? Perhaps they go through the applications in batches, and haven't got to ours yet?

I would genuinely like to believe this. I hope they make a favourable decision soon.

Plot twist. Both modules which I expressed an interest in on my application are not expected to run this year (international commercial litigation and finance). Consequently, I am EXTREMELY doubtful that I'll get an offer! How unfortunate hah :) best of luck to all.

Not to worry, I just realized that one of the papers I was interested in will not be offered either in 2018/19 and still received an offer :)

I think they focus more on your academic merits. Your course choices are less important.

Has anyone asked when the official letter will be sent?
Posted Feb 06, 2018 18:31
Anybody else disappointed by the fact that International Commercial Litigation, International Financial Law, Competition Law might not be offered. They didn't even put Corporate Governance on the list for possible modules that will or will not be taught?
Is it worth accepting if your choices are no longer offered? Need your opinions? Also, congrats to all those that got offers.
