My thoughts exactly ^... Why couldn't they have made us aware before we spent the money on the application and also tailored our application to those particular modules (which may or may not have been slightly over-exaggerated (Im not actually that interested in ICL hah)). Regardless, I am still hopeful that it wont have a detrimental impact on my application, however only time will tell...

Have your status (of those already addmited) on the application portal changed? I have not received an offer or rejection and is still under review.
Posted Feb 06, 2018 18:42
No; mine hasn't changed.

Been creeping here for the past two days. I too remain Under Review by Department without any email.
It's not a nice position we're in now! A lot of uncertainty. As has been said by someone else, I have an uncomfortable feeling that all offers have been sent already. Best of luck to everybody waiting and congratulations to those already confirmed.

Nope, I can assure you're too pessimistic here. I've had a word with the GAO. They will be sending out offers until Friday. We still have not lost hope.

Hi Mombastic. Was your chat with GAO regarding us who have been emailed by the department?
My status on the portal was changed to ‘Awaiting approval by GAO’ some time today (after Miss Wade’s email yesterday), but I am still to receive the conditions of my offer. Would be nice to know when to expect their official decision and if I can start celebrating:)

Anybody else disappointed by the fact that International Commercial Litigation, International Financial Law, Competition Law might not be offered. They didn't even put Corporate Governance on the list for possible modules that will or will not be taught?
Is it worth accepting if your choices are no longer offered? Need your opinions? Also, congrats to all those that got offers.
Received a conditional offer yesterday. Not too worried about International Commercial Litigation, but I was surprised as well to see that Corporate Governance was not included.
Anybody who called Ms. Wade's office has clarity on when the conditional offers will be sent? In any case, I presume there will be a formal admissions packet in the mail.
Thanks

My application status still reads "under review by department". I haven't heard from Cambridge so far, but since someone in this thread mentioned that decisions will be sent until Friday, I keep my hopes up.
A colleague of mine who attended the Cambridge LLM programme two years ago said that (apparently) decisions are usually announced to students in alphabetical order, which might be the reason that I haven't received the e-mail so longed-for as of yet.

I was thinking the same. This makes me a bit relieved but the stress is terrible. I was also thinking that the later we applied, the later we'll be hearing back from them. But if other people are kind enough to confirm that their family names are close to the first letter of the alphabet it would be awesome.
Unfortunately, I haven't got any credit left to call - and even if I had I would've been reluctant to ring the GAO as I don't want to sound pushy. Maybe one of those who hasn't heard from Cambridge yet may get in touch tomorrow after 10PM. I'm not a fan of emails, too much bureaucracy.

Two classmates received conditional offers. Their names start with I and F, and their last names with I and O.

Plot twist. Both modules which I expressed an interest in on my application are not expected to run this year (international commercial litigation and finance). Consequently, I am EXTREMELY doubtful that I'll get an offer! How unfortunate hah :) best of luck to all.
I wouldn’t worry. Two modules I was highly interested in (Competition Law and Constitutional law of the EU) are not in the list of expected courses on offer and I still received the e-mail about the offer yesterday.

i don't know whether I should accept. It is bad enough that the degree is only limited to 4 modules, but the fact that 3 of the 4 subjects that I wanted is not being offered (for now). I dont think it is worth the overall 27k it will cost me to pay for a degree in which i have no subjects that i am interested in.

Not true. Decisions are dealt with in batches with no reference whatsoever to alphabetical order. Both times I accepted offers from Cambridge, I was among the first people to receive offers. And yes, my name starts with letters somewhere in the bottom half of the alphabet.

For those concerned about modules, it does happen! Cambridge always puts a disclaimer that not all courses shall be offered in the coming years. Course offerings depend on so many things such as availability of course convenors. If the usual course convenor goes on Sabbatical or is on another project and unable to teach that particular module, the module cannot be offered that year. It is a method of quality assurance. Cambridge will not get just anyone to teach a course just because they know something about it.
However, when courses are not on offer, they are always replaced with another course. For example when Corporate Finance was not offered last year, the University offered Financial Regulation instead. When Birth and After life of states was not offered, the University offered Investment Law. And so on and so forth.
So do not make rushed decisions. Wait for the course offerings to be announced and then make your decision. If what is on offer is not appetizing enough, by all means, it is your money to be spent and you have a right to choose how to spend it. 9 months is too long to do what you dont enjoy.

I am rather stressed as I have not heard anything either way and my applicant portal still says under review by department. I am worried this means I have been rejected. A friend of a friend who currently goes to Oxford has received her LLM offer on Monday. Am I right to be pessimistic?

Someone on this thread has previously said, after consulting with GAO, that offers will be coming out up till Friday--so it's still premature to feel discouraged.

Hi everyone
Does anybody know when we will receive an official offer, after having received the mail from Suzanne Wade?
