Cambridge application 2018/2019

I could be wrong - but I read that all pooled mature applicants (i.e. all of us) get pooled automatically to the mature colleges. Cannot find source link, sorry!

I read this too actually, that mature colleges like St. Edmund's take in a disproportionately large number of LLM students.

Just received an offer from Jesus College; after unsuccessful applications at my first and second choice.

What were the 1 and 2 choice? Trinity? :)

Also, was this received by email or through the portal?

We probably get pooled to colleges who have the most available spaces at that particular time. I guess that would explain why there are more offers made to LLM’ers from the graduate colleges, as they’d have more spaces to hand out, but isn’t just limited to them.

In any event, I’m still waiting for a college. A decision soon would be nice!

I am (even though I haven't decided whether I will actually accept the offer for the LL.M. at Cambridge). And I haven't been allocated to a college yet.

I am as well!

Nice...so let me know if you guys want to join me for a coffee (or a beer, perhaps) these days.

Has anyone heard from Gonville and Caius College?

No. Did you put it as first or second preference?

Still no news from Gonville and Caius for me - has anyone heard either way?

Me too, got rejected both at my first and second but got an offer from Clare. You think Clare flairs among the best?

Haven't heard back from any college yet... anyone in the same position?

Same, I haven't either. It's been pretty much a month since I received my formal offer too. I might give the GAO a ring soon to see if I can get an idea as to when I'll hear back.

I suppose it might only be after next week that you'll hear anything. I hear (but cannot confirm) that most colleges and GAO are on easter holidays?

I'm also yet to hear back from colleges. Not sure if that's a good or bad sign (it's almost certainly a bad sign), but at least you're not alone.

I guess he is trying to sugarcoat his college offer :)

So I just called up Graduate Admissions Office and they told me which college was currently looking at my application (St Edmund's College), and that they were the 5th college looking at my application. The 5th college looking at ur app is mandated to accept you, so I know that I will be allocated to St Edmund's despite having not received an official email letter or seen an update on my self-service page yet.

So for those still waiting, you may want to give the GAO a call to find out the status of your app!
